If you move to America, job number one, is to learn the language.
ReplyDeleteChuck - English is not the native language of this continent. Do you speak Souix or Cherekee?
ReplyDeleteIt's Sioux (technically, Lakota) and Cherokee.
ReplyDeleteSpanish, Vietnamese, Somali, etc., are also not native to the Americas.
Yeah, all those Mexicans should drop Spanish (the language of their European colonial oppressors) and learn their native languages.
ReplyDeleteSpanish is pretty much the language of oppression wherever it the world it was established.
ReplyDeleteThis is the US... an English speaking country. Byron, you'd do well to employ some common sense rather than blindly side with the Mexicans.
ReplyDeleteDo them a favor, go down there and EDUCATE their children, and advocate for building their own society rather than coming up here and just moving in with their rich northern cousin.
Right now, most of Mexico should just be turned into a parking lot. They need to change that. Wonder how many Mexicans who slip north can't even read SPANISH!
If hispanics on this side really cared about their southern cousins coming up here, they'd be teaching ESL.
I know the Catholic Church made a concerted effort when the Vietnamese showed up here from the Manila Refugee camps in 1980. And the refugees were so eager to learn it and fit in, as to so many European immigrants who had no choice but to look forward to their new lives here across the pond.
I don't know any of them who whined and tried to turn this into Vietnam or Germany. They wanted to be Americans. I'm just not sure why Tee's doing all this, he doens't look still wet from swimming the Rio... and I'm not sure why your'e so single minded about being pro Mexican.
Don't preach apartheid, Byron, preach blending in. We do things differently here, and they can adjust if encouraged. Moreover, our flag's not green. That was their old flag.
dumb radioman. just dumb.
ReplyDeleteRadioman is correct.
ReplyDeleteMan, some days I just can't spell for shit. (technically, these names can't be misspelled, only the accepted English spelling.)
