Today's ruckus at City Hall reveals another FAILURE for Mayor Funky.
Chris Hernandez reported on the debate and how this town's lame duck Co-Mayor can't even get anything notable through Committee nowadays.
"During Wednesday morning's Finance Committee meeting, the resolution (to start taking bids on privatizing the Water Department one piece at a time), sponsored by Mayor Mark Funkhouser, was broadened to also take a look at whether other city functions could be handled by the private sector.
But council member John Sharp argued strongly against going down that road, and was successful in scaling back the resolution."
Again, Mayor Kay tried this and was smacked down quickly. Thing is, it's a fact that Kay Barnes was a more effective leader than the current loser clinging to power who hopes that the fact everyone knows his name (despite the fact they disapproves of his leadership) will win him reelection.
When John Sharp has the juice to smack you down, you are a pathetic POS.
ReplyDeletetold ya so!!!! funk'd can only pass gas. I'm thinking Sharp is funk'd's gas.
ReplyDeleteNice save for hermann!
Sharp is the world's biggest and ugliest asshole.
ReplyDeleteThat's right Sharp is an expert on management. Sharp created the current MAST mess and he almost destoryed MAST when he was director.
ReplyDeleteSharp sucks, but he got a great deal on Coldplay tickets.
ReplyDeleteI loathe Sharp, but let's take a look at this....City needs money...private contractor needs to do all the things City needs to PLUS provide money to City AND make a profit. Who's gonna get the shaft here folks??? Anyone who pays a sewer bill in KCMO, that's who.
ReplyDeleteSharp *has* to be against this. How could he justify privatising the sewers but yet he was all about taking over a perfectly functioning non-profit (MAST) and gave it to the government? You can justify it if you are a Cuban, but this is not Cuba my son.
ReplyDeleteGreat. So Sharp pimps for the public employe, sleeping on the job vote. And those of us who pay the salaries get overlooked. Anyone voter why there is voter outrage in 2010?
ReplyDeleteThere may and should be voter outrage in KCMO in 2010. The residents have been screwed by the little clique of insiders and hangers-on for years.
ReplyDeleteBut it's one thing to be outraged and another to actually get out and vote.
We'll soon see just what percentage of residents are outraged enough just to get off their butts for one day.
Unfortunately, bet it won't be very high.
