TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER JOSEPH JACKSON FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST THE DISTRICT!!!
Sadly, it didn't take long for one of the new Kansas City, Missouri School District reformers to end up in court.
A rather astute and AWESOME TKC TIPSTER sent this message my way so that we can all stay informed as to state of the KCMSD:
Joseph Jackson, KCMSD board member, is suing The Kansas City, Missouri School District and Deborah McGill. Filed on August 10th. Case number 1016-CV23969 - JOSEPH JACKSON V DEBORAH MCGILL ET AL
Check the public record for yourself on Case.net.
The filing doesn't offer much detail but it does reveal a few interesting facts.
For instance, the lawsuit names:
Deborah McGill - Most likely, we're talking about the former and controversial Central High Principal.
Superintendent John Covington
And
The Kansas City Missouri School Board
Because it's an ongoing (just starting) legal matter the District isn't making any comments, not even off the record.
It would be unwise to speculate on any details . . . However, ugly lawsuits involving public institutions never turn out good for any of the parties involved. Additionally, a nasty legal battle will most definitely fade at least some of the luster of the incoming slate of School Board members that everyone hoped would bring about a real change for the KCMSD.
Airick?
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, he should resign from the school board IMMEDIATELY!
ReplyDeleteGood thing the district is awash in money to pay for these lawsuits. Lord knows that it's such a rich and successful district that they can afford a lengthy legal battle. The teachers and students will understand that when hundreds of thousands is spent on a lawsuit while they sit in crumbing building and staff gets laid off.
ReplyDeleteBut as a school board member, this dude probably knows how rich the district is.
Radioman is right! Jackson needs to resign. What a conflict of interest!
ReplyDeleteAirick?
ReplyDeleteCrispin?
ReplyDeleteGoogle: CATO, kansas city school district $2 billion dollars and wonder who got the big bucks. Someone needs to follow the money.
ReplyDeleteDon't talk about the students needing money, KCSD spends $12,000 to $16,000 per student...whew! Think that's enough?
Look up the district budget and have a good read, then throw up.
VOUCHERS NOW.
ReplyDeleteFunny how this story dropped from the front line... I bet Tony will delete this story like he did the one about Crispin. How much money are you getting under the table from the district tony?
ReplyDeleteThis post was up all day. You read this blog too much. I can only stand Tony's fart smell for so long.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the same Joesph Jackson that was caught in the bathroom at Longan Elementary by the nurse. He must have had his "little boy" out, the nurse screamed for mercy! She was upset that she had to leave immediatel and called in sick 2 or 3 days afterwards. Do board members hide in the restrooms of the schools that they visit and do obscene things? Joe-Joe what were you doing in that restroom? Oooh, I'm scared of your nerve!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Ain't that crazy? One of their own board members wants to sue? He should be dismissed from the board immediately! and what is he suing for?
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure how you can make a statement like "He should resign," when you don't even know the details of the lawsuit.
ReplyDeleteIt's frustrating news, but that doesn't make it unwarranted. Yet.
Vouchers! Immediately if not sooner.
ReplyDeleteApparently, like news from Hickman Mills isn't really news since it didn't get any attention, but here it is. Board President Bonnaye Mims didn't appreciate the way another board member kept asking questions about certification status of new hires, so she encouraged administration to investigate (and possibly charge) the board member for harassment.
ReplyDeleteState control...coming soon.
ReplyDeleteSay no to vouchers. We Democrats can't go letting minority families having choices. Gotta keep them subservient on the plantation.
