The latest frightening murder to start the week reminds us the violence in this cowtown can be insanely random and often makes no sense.
A woman died in South KC because of a stray bullet as this town's local homicide rate continues to climb. Check the local news links:

Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting the latest homicide stats. The "homicide surge" that began in KCMO in early 2008 continues: At this point in 2007 we were at 23 homicides--in 2008 the figure was 32, in 2009 the figure was 40 and in 2010 the figure is 33. Notice to former KCMO POlice Board chairs Mark Thompson, Karl Zobrist and Terry Brady: IN 2009 Washington, DC had the lowest homicide totals in 50 years, in 2009 NYC had the lowest homcide totals since figures began being kept in 1963. You are well aware of these facts since you get them briefed to you on a regular basis by senior officers of the KCPD. So, would you please stop insulting the intelligence of everyone in this city by pretending to sincerely believe that the explosion of violence in KCMO that began in the spring of 2008 is due to the recession. We are not idiots in KCMO, and we are tired of you all treating us as if we were. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
ReplyDeleteMr Tony. Does Alonzo just count the murders?
ReplyDeleteHe talks about tips a lot to catch the murderers... but that's like closing the barn door after the horse got out.
I want to know how many he's prevented.
33 compared to 100+ in chicago. yes, murders are just skyrocketing in kc.
ReplyDeleteToo bag Kansas City has such an inept police department.
ReplyDeleteMore red light cameras would surely help.
ReplyDeleteBTY where's the Waldo rapist.
ReplyDeleteAlonzo put your cape on fly down here and save us!
ReplyDeletealonzo does a better job than kcpd.
ReplyDeleteHey Anon 9:48::: You don't really get statistics do you? Look at the per capita ration and you will see that KC is much higher than Chicago.
ReplyDelete9:48 is probably a cop that never took a course in math or stats.
ReplyDeleteThat's why KCPD always has the wrong numbers posted on their website.
10:45........How many people has Alonzo arrested? Next time there is a theft, murder, rape, domestic violence, or any crime call Alonzo, and tell him to write about it on Myspace. See how many crimes that solves..........your ignorant.
ReplyDeleteOK I will.
ReplyDeleteI'll call him.
