One More Kansas City Murder

NBC Action News: At least three people were involved in an altercation Tuesday afternoon before a shooting occurred. One of the shooting victims died as a result of his injuries.

    Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for keeping the city posted on our homicide situation--a problem the city's convention industry would like to be totally ignored!! Interesting aspect of the homicide stats: The increase in violence in the past several years has all fallen in the black community. We started the current "homicide surge" in the spring of 2008. In the last year before the current surge began (2007) we were at 24 homicides on April 30, 2007--16 black and 8 white/asian/hispanic. Today, we are at 35 homicides--28 black and 7 asian/white/hispanic. And, forget about blaming it on the recession: In 2009 Washington,DC had the lowest homicide totals in 50 years, in New York the city had the lowest homicide totals since stats started being kept in 1963. If the recession is not causing an upsurge of violence in those towns, there is no reason to pretend that it is causing the ongoing explosion of violence in KCMO's black sections.     People get killed every where - Unfortunately. If more brotha's would wise up, get an education, stay off the juice, quit selling drugs, get a job, perhaps their would be less of them killed.

    It's amazing how blacks in this country have had so many more opportunities than hispanics; however, hispanics have skills. They have good trade skills, and family values. Hispanics run our restaurants, and build our homes. Hispanics are outpacing blacks in this country although blacks have been here longer.

    I think blacks see hispanics as their next meal ticket since white people will be extinct in the next 100 years or so.
