TKC NOTE: Here's a post that was killed on KC Confidential wherein I tried to teach Hearne what high stakes blogging is all about and also a bit of proof that more people at The Star talk to me than anybody would like to think - Also, this is my take on a cowtown "page six" gossip relationship item:
There is a small group of high profile, public figure media people who cover Kansas City Entertainment and it seems that they want to share more than sources. Accordingly, some of THE MOST GULLY TKC TIPSTERS are speculating that The Star's music reviewer Tim Finn is making time with former Star columnist Hearne Christopher's ex-girlfriend.
In terms of solid information, I have only the fact that Finn has been embarrassingly sniffing around the Facebook profile of Hearne's former hottie (who is half the age of both these dudes) and leaving cutesy comments. There's also a direct quote which claims they are "friends" but the story gets even more sordid.
Let's savor this one together, shall we?
First of all, behind his back a great many of Finn's "friends" are kinda grossed out that he's still playing the "grief card" when it comes to his dead wife who passed exactly a year ago last week.
Finn's backstabbing friends say that he was moving toward a divorce when his old lady ran off into the great beyond while working out on a treadmill. Of course Finn's faux friends won't call him on what they consider phony grieving and nobody really knows the human heart. I think there is a definite possibility that Finn's Facebook grief is real and not just a rather convenient excuse to lure hot chicks. But I'm an optimist like that.
And since I'm sharing so much much of Finn's personal life I should note that I'm only interested in this story because I recently lost my Grandmother who was the only source of consistency in my life. She helped to raise me and did her best to see that I didn't end up in jail or victim to a violent death like so many of my friends. I note her passing only because I don't want sympathy and I think my grandma was too good for public memorializing but it's only fair that I feel a strange kinship with Finn related to grief . . . Put simply, it seems we're both creeps who lost somebody much better than ourselves. And that's basically the point of this post:
I CAN'T STAND THE KANSAS CITY NICE GUY ROUTINE!!!
It's phony, nothing more than a ploy and ignores the fact that most public-figure-high-profile-media-people in this cowtown spend most of our waking hours in search of money and poon-tang. I also hear that Finn has a weird temperament and I want to advise him that I'm not so philanthropic and nice in the real world and any public tantrum won't be tolerated and just might be met with a Westside response that usually involves more significant repercussions than hurt feelings. Nevertheless, I hope that Finn will take this bit of free advice (worth every penny) from one of his Facebook "friends" and move past the grieving stage and onto the bright future of chasing Hearne's sloppy seconds.
