Kansas City, as a whole, finished 34th out of the 40 cities for walkability. Local blog "Toellner tells it" looks on the bright sides and spotlights several white neighborhoods where the walking isn't that bad. However, for the most part this is a theoretical discussion since I rarely see anybody walking to their destination in KC . . . And when I do, the overwhelming majority of KC walkers are either minorities or youngsters obviously in lower income brackets.

ReplyDeleteEveryone in Northeast walks... (or rides their uncle's motorized wheelchair that Medicaid paid for.) When you go to Walgreens on The Avenue there are like six cars in the parking lot but sixty people inside.
