KC Council panel OKs starting process to turn MAST ambulance into city department . . . If I didn't want the fire department in charge, I definitely don't want the City running things at MAST. The goal: Keeping Sharon Sanders Brooks, Mayor Funky and his wife's feet as far from any emergency medical treatment that KC might need.

sniff, sniff.....I weep for the untold number of children who will die while politicos dine and drink celebrating.....Mommy? will I die too????
ReplyDeleteFunk and the squid need to be involved in the mortuary industry - not ambulances. They're not sick - THEY'RE dead - politically.
ReplyDeleteThis is the worst possible solution. Not only does it fuck the fire department, it fucks MAST and fucks the employees and fucks the residents.
ReplyDeleteAll this amounts to is a delay of a year until the union can muscle a few more politicians to ignore the facts and suck the ambulance into KCFD's bloated budget.
The city of fountains can't keep it's fountains running, but it thinks it can run an ambulance? It can't run a police department (save the we're under state control lies). It is closing fire stations.
What moron thinks this is a good idea?
Tony and 10:46 have a point. If the fire department isn't a good idea than this scheme is even worse.
ReplyDeleteHeck there were several operating in KCMO until Wheeler fukked it up.
ReplyDeleteMonopoly doesn't help, competition does.
Let the city take over & let mast begin a new era. As a private company.
Now I thought if the City took over then mast would be a City Department.
ReplyDeleteI think keeping MAST private would benefit all of KC.
if the city takes over, we all are in danger of dying while awaiting medical help.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is the strategy? Take over MAST, make working conditions and morale so low that people quit. Then you can do like LA Fire does and just hire noobs for peanuts on the dollar and churn them out.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, your career fire department positions go to union loyalists who ensure that those True to the Cause are properly enriched.
Now youre talking about the ambulance service that covers MY community and I don't live in kcmo.
ReplyDeleteCity government... that guy above is right. Don't touch mast. You haven't shown you can run much of anything really well.
If we need changes in ambulance service, give it to MED ACT, not to KC's shitty hall!
Hell give it to GHOSTBUSTERS!
