Rainforest Cafe out of Oak Park Mall

Okay, I'm going to pretend not to care about the Rainforest Cafe closing . . . But it's actually kind of sad.

The Rainforest Cafe at Oak Park Mall has closed its doors for good.

A Landry's Restaurant representative told KMBC that the restaurant closed Sunday night when its lease expired.

KMBC's Dan Weinbaum reported that the cafe was a destination restaurant. It was popular with children for its wild jungle theme.

This was one aspect of suburban privilege that was kind cool and there's nothing like celebrating the quickly disappearing rain forest with a cool electronic light show, high calorie food and a weird ass animatronic animals that are becoming extinct.
