TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! THE INTERNETZ SAYS THAT GOV. MATT BLUNT IS TEH GHEY!!!

I hate doing any kind of research which is why TKC is one of the best bloggers in Kansas City i.e. only the obvious and very easy stories fall into my lap.

Therefore I'm going to "report" something that no other political blog in Kansas City has bothered to mention.

INTERNETZ RUMORS CLAIM THAT GOV. MATT BLUNT IS TEH GHEY AND MIGHT SOON BY OUTED BY A CABLE NEWS NETWORK!!!

At first I was worried about the consequence of reporting this story but it is literally ALL OVER THE INTERNET!!!

Here are just a few examples from an EXCLUSIVE compilation that TKC put together:

We'll start off slow with a bloggy post which just hints that Blunt is rather sweet looking: "Fey Is Like Gay, But Not: Gov. Matt Blunt" Nothing much there but a lot of hinting.

But then things get hardcore (ouch):

  • The Data Lounge has a HUGE discussion of The Gov's alleged homosexuality which goes back quite a few weeks.

  • Queerty (a mega gay site) speculates that CNN was going to make an outing last week.

  • Queerfilter, a site with a big reach as well (hehe) reposts just the same thing.

  • Meanwhile, the STL streetfighter just comes out and says it: "That's right "out" as in "out" as in he is GAY!"

  • Also, even a cursory glance at the STL Post Dispatch blogs will provide tons of comments which make claims about the gheyness of the Gov. even after the management has been doing their best to delete most of them.

It gets worse . . . The rumors are pretty detailed. They involve a 29 year-old real estate developer from Springfield, MO.

There is also SPECULATION that this could not only be a reason that Matt Blunt isn't running for re-election but also why he's in such a huff to keep his e-mails private.

TKC actually had to talk to people on this one and apparently everybody knew about this before I did (even though it's still an EXCLUSIVE for TKC because I'm just that gully) . . . One very informed political insider told TKC: "It's not a secret any more and it's just a matter of time till people start openly discussing this," he continued . . ."The gossip is everywhere and it's very similar to the great majority of Larry Craig's constituency who knew he was gay long before it was reported."

So then I had to go to local newsies to see if they had any wind of these rumors.

I was literally laughed at no less than 3 times . . . They had all heard the talk.

However, a very smart newsie said pretty much the following:

"They're just rumors Tony, and they have been around for months. We keep hearing that another news organization is going to break the story but so far no one has . . . In his defense, I could start a rumor as well but that doesn't make it true. We need a better standard for what we will report."

So, TKC isn't saying anybody is the ghey but ignoring talk from the Internet which has now become a MAJOR MEDIA NEWS SOURCE for a great number of people is a bad decision.

Personally, TKC holds no opinion about anyone's teh gheyness because unless you see it for yourself (which would mean you're also the ghey) all information on this front is nothing but second hand.

Yet, as we step into the digital age I think that directly confronting Internet gossip is the best way to go. People only hide, gossip and speculate on the Internet because they go unchallenged . . . This strategy doesn't reflect the unruliness of the Internet or blogs but only the coziness that politicos have with mainstream media. Nevertheless, talk is talk and politicos ignore the Internet at their own peril.

In the case, the "filter up" strategy of both big media and politicos serves only to make them gatekeepers of what their audience and their constituents are already reading and talking about . . .

The truth is out there, it may not be on the Internetz but ignoring any element of the public discourse is no longer an option for anyone who depends on the masses.

Also, NO HOMO on this whole post . . .
