TKC VINDICATED ONCE AGAIN!!! THANK YOU KCI, THE BLOCK OF THIS BLOG AT THE AIRPORT IS OVER!!!

Talk about the power of the squeaky, Chicano wheel!!!

TKC would like to thank KCI for lifting the block on this blog!!!!

Here's a recent comment from airport officials concerning recent controversy:

Hi Tony: I sent you an email before about your site being blocked at KCI's free WiFi access. At the time, I asked the City's IT department to look into it. The filter company the City uses looks for profanity and nudity, which sometimes are on this site. Since it is a public place, realize that kids and others could possibly see nudity on someone's laptop screen if the filter did not exist. I just asked them to look into it again, and they will lift the block for you. The City uses this company for blocking input in the Kansas City Live district and other venues. You need to petition the company directly to be unblocked at the WiFi sites they serve. When I have their web site, I will let you know.

Regarding the flykci.com ad, the Kansas City Aviation Department produced a new 60-second television public service announcement commercial to run on CNN's Airport Network at Kansas City International Airport to promote its www.flykci.com website and the ease and convenience of parking and flying from KCI Airport. The commercial features a chimpanzee named Kenzie. During the two-day production, Kenzie received ample rest time and his trainer was very clear about not overworking him. All of his actions were in response to verbal cues and were rewarded with food. The Kansas City Aviation Department's experience is limited to our observation of Kenzie's treatment during the commercial shoot, we believe he was well cared-for and properly treated during the production of our television commercial. We have had discussions with the trainer, who says Kenzie receives regular medical care from a licensed vet. We have conferred with a leading St. Louis-area vet who is familiar with both the trainer and Kenzie, and he was satisfied that Kenzie receives regular medical care and is treated with love and respect. PeTA is generally against the use of chimps for promotional or other purposes. They cite abuses in various places. From all indications we have, Kenzie has a very good life indeed. We appreciate everybody's concern.

  1. It's worth pointing out that filtering software exists many places, particularly public libraries. This software is uniformly ineffective resulting in an embarrassing number of "false positives." For instance i can't read Well Hell Michelle at work probably because the "porn" appears on the site. Tony you were right to follow up and everyone should know that sites can always be manually whitelisted. If something is blocked that you want to see, complain loudly.

  4. I think this blog should be restricted due to the language and pictures along. Not to mention all the rumors that you spread with no proof whatsoever. Could this fall under the new cyber bullying law....hmmm????
