    Shawnee is certainly an interesting mix but its far from the Golden Ghetto.

    True you've got some older rental properties and 70's apartments which are bringing in a rougher class then what Shawnee has seen in the past, but the west of Quivira and Northwest Shawnee are quite upper scale.

    Still it's very vibrant and the Westbrooke II Shopping center is filling up again, only with higher class occupants, such as a Walgreens, possibly a Hobby Lobby and the best new Vietnamese restaurant in KC according to the Pitch, Cafe Song.

    You need to look at NE and Central OP to find the "Ghetto" in Johnson County.
