Beat a bicyclist with a baseball bat!!!

I don't condone violence unless it's on a computer or in rare instances against a loud mouth woman but then only by on behalf of her husband and ONLY with a rod or a tree switch no bigger than the guy's thumb. Agreed!

However, it's hard not to hate the so-called "bicycling advocates" not only because their silly special interest wastes so much precious time on an issue that affects so few, white, rich, privileged people who want access to the highest ranks of power in Kansas City because of their goofy hobby BUT ALSO because the few Mexican mojados who ride bikes out of necessity aren't really a part of their clique and nobody is going to organize a "silent ride" for one of those dudes that will eventually get clipped on KC's dangerous streets. Also, the fact that Beth Gottstein considers herself a cycling/bicycle/pedestrian advocate is just one more sign that she's going CRAZY at her new City Hall job and should really keep her attention focused on the recent wave of CRIME that has stricken Midtown and not every hippie with a pet cause.

Anyway, rather than point out what a silly, self-indulgent and unsafe pastime that cycling is every time news regarding the biker short wearing douchebags comes up . . . I think I'm just gonna keep clicking a link to this Internet game that invites you to smack a cyclist.

I found the link via Fazed and it provides much more stress relief than dodging traffic or waiting to get run over by an SUV which once again proves that computer gamers > cyclists in all aspects not limited to mere tonnage.

  1. If you're interested in this post, before you get all indignant. Let me offer you a chance to be creative: I'll post any screen capture and message you make of this game with whatever (legal) message you come up with . . . Or you can just write a nasty message . . . Whatever is clever.

  2. Tony, I'm sorry that you have that opinion of local bikers, but you couldn't be more wrong. Most bikers in this area are not rich and privileged. In fact, there are some who depend on their bikes as much as your earlier highlighted KCK citizens depend on the bus.

  3. And Tony, we do organize rides for fallen cyclists of all stripe and we leave memorials where they died(usually crumpled bikes painted white) to honor them and provide visable reminder that a human being had died there and to promote awareness that there are other users of our roads who are more vulnerable to careless behavior. The most recent was a homeless man who most of us had never met.

Although this may be fun and games for you and you may be joking, these kinds of comments do promote violence against others. It's reckless and irresponsible to even in jest make comments promoting violence against women or anyone for that matter. It reinforces a callous and comical pardigm concerning the value of their lives. It's not funny and I do not find humor in your suggestion that I should be met with violence for my choice of physical activity, transportation and sport. I have a family; a wife and a baby boy who I love very much. I do not want to be murdered by someone because they cary around a negative stereo-type concerning me or a callousness concerning my life and humanity. For you to be so inhuman, uncarring and irresponsible as to further the notion that women, cyclists or any group be secondclass and worth less is disgusting. Thinking about never seeing my son or my wife makes me very sad and incredibly angry with you.

I've had a number of run-ins with folks over the years that intended to kill me because they carry around a self-rightous and indignant attitude and indifference to other human life. I can only imagine that this kind of humor would be up their alley and would reinforce their behavior.

Just as we know that racism begets racism and violence against people of color so to do sexist comments. They create and perpetuate a climate of fear, violence, intimidation, coercion and brutality.

Re-think your position and hope you never make the mistake of crossing me on the street while I'm cycling and threaten me with violence. I won't be wearing spandex.

  4. I'm sick of this argument. It's on a site in a different form everyday.

    bikers:
Please obey all traffic laws. Stay to the right side of your lane as is required of any slow moving vehicle. No blowing through stop lights, ever. You are not a better person because of your bike.

    cars:
Keep an eye out for anything that is not a car. Pass bikers on the left quickly and don't make a big production out of it to slow down traffic. Don't yell at bikers it is fruitless and only distracts them even further. You are not a better person either because of your car.

Now use the road to get to your destination and shut the fuck up, all of you.

  5. Ha! This from a guy who leads off his blog with a complaint about Funkhouse appointing a racist to the KC Board. What an ironic contradiction. That's just pathetic.

  6. If it is such a goofy hobby, you enjoy spending Three Bucks a gallon to get around, while I can go just about anywhere and use nothing but leg power and spend my money on things i want rather than burning it away in my gas tank. Oh yeah, the last vigil was for a homeless man that relyed on his bike for his sole transportation. Not a mexican, but simply another person without a lot of money to spend. The vigils are to remind people like you that Bikes are not just a goofy hobby as you put it, but a form of transportation that is becoming more widespread all of the time.

  8. Arguing with this jack ass is obviously tantamount to ramming your head against the wall. Obviously a republican. Sees the world in black and white, us vs. them, cut and dry. Racist, sexist, ignorant and hateful. Yep, a republican.

  9. I think he's probably a democrat! A sexist, racist, heterosexist democrat! Sees the world in two party, "either-or", black and white terms.

Or socially liberal vs conservative..or...economically liberal vs economically conservative....or it really doesn't matter cause because one couldn't possibly extrapolate political, social or economic affiliation via whats given here.

One can draw from this text sexist, hetero-sexist, favors hierarchy, authority and coercive violence. Which in any context are halmarks of a coward and person who feels weak and thus must attempt to compensate through this kind of transparent bravado.

  10. The bike community is great.

Don't get all pissy just because you got stuck behind a mass of them when you were on your way to the Plaza.

  11. I only skimmed the above, because I only came here for the game, so I only have this to offer in return:

    It's "clique," you moron.

  12. Beat a mexican with a baseball bat!

  13. It's jackasses like you that make other countries hate America... with these sorts of attitudes it's no wonder we're threatening war with everyone...

  14. You are douche for having such a narrow field of vision.
If cycling is stupid, I venture to say blogging is equally stupid.
