A local blogger post an amazing interview with the legendary Kansas City singer. Lots of interesting and heart breaking details in the post and the interview. The fact that McBeth isn't a world renowned singer is somewhat disappointing but it makes her singing that much more believable in very much the same way that all of the mean spirited commentary on this blog should clue you into the fact that I'm actually a horrible person in real life as well.
Sometimes, creative expression is so creative expression is so convincing that it becomes reality which is how you might explain the phenomenon behind Jesus and why Susan Lucci has to be careful that she isn't slapped when she goes out in public. And that's right, I just compared myself to our Lord and Savior and one of the greatest soap opera stars of all time . . . I think I might have caught a little food poisoning at the Casino buffet this Thanksgiving. And for that I'm thankful, dizzy and still might be hallucinating just a little . . .
I've done sound for a lot of 'deserving' people over the years. They may have awesome music and talent but can't break into the big time.
ReplyDeleteIt happens all over the country. Talented musicians without talented weasels to promote them will always fall by the wayside.
Its a fact. Deal with it.
