With message for freedom, jazz beat heard around the world - UNESCO
Observed annually on 30 April, the International Day honours the enduring legacy of this musical genre and its power to bring people together. UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay said the message for freedom "is rooted at the very core " of jazz music, which is defined by improvisation.

There is nothing "sacred" about Jazz, except in KCMO where it is praised and revered. If Jazz is so popular, we should have no trouble keeping the 18th & Vine district humming with visitors and LOCALS. Where is the Black community support? Let's see some folks come out each and every weekend to keep the sacred music alive in KC.
