"The store captured video surveillance of the break-in at Waldo Jewelers near 75th and Wornall. The owner said the thief got away with less than $1,000 worth of jewelry.

 "The owner said the thief seemed quite nonchalant about the whole thing, as he kept a cigarette in his mouth the whole time, and even left behind the hammer he used to break the window."

    75th and Wornall? Yeaaahhh ... time was, that area wasn't so very incredibly shitty. Used to live and work around there in the early 90s, when it was still possible to take walks after nightfall. Shit, you could even sit on your porch at night, drinking a beer like a regular human being, without being snuck up on, beaten and robbed.

    Thems were the days.

    Any sort of jewelry or electronics store in this area should relocate. Keep the bars, mid-level eateries and closed-by-5 pm auto shops.
