Another quick glimpse at a creation from BNIM and a home buyer with horrible ideas . . .
A Midwest Marvel: Stylish Shipping Container Home in Kansas City
Deets:
"The three-bedroom, three-bath home in the Brookside neighborhood comprises five shipping containers. It measures 2,600 square feet and is available for $799,000."
You decide . . .
Will these be the Lustron homes of the 21st Century?
ReplyDelete$800K for 59th and Charlotte? You're shittin' me.
ReplyDeleteI did like the realtorspeak description "The containers were fused. Fused, doesn't that mean welded.
I'm not shitting you. My ass isn't big enough for a turd like you
DeleteShipping container homes like these are a complete joke. It's one thing to place a couple together, cut holes between them for doorways and call it a house. These are basically new steel frame construction with a few panels from shipping containers for decor 'cause its the trendy thing to do. Nothing green or recycled about them.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like an upscale deviation from a mobile home. And for $800k?!?
ReplyDelete@ 9:56 nailed it, the original coverage of this thing admitted that these were custom built modules designed to look like shipping containers.
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing was just a scam by some rich "artsy" bitch and her architect to get coverage in a few magazines several years ago.
This has nothing to do with the real movement to re-purpose the shipping containers you see stacked around everywhere.
