TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY BIG BIZ SUPPORTS GO BONDS AMID TAX FIGHTER CONCERN OVER CONFLICT AND SUBSIDIES!!!
Take a look at this quick glimpse of conversation among tax fighters regarding THE BIG MONEY DONORS FOR THE GO BOND CAMPAIGN who have very clear connections to City Hall.
Here's the word . . .
"Jolie Justus’ Law Firm, Shook Hardy Bacon, contributes $10,000. Isn't that a conflict of interest? She voted to put this on the ballot and her firm contributes??? Also Kansas City Live LLC. (Cordish Company) doesn't pay property tax on Power and Light District, taxpayers have to come up with $10,000,000 - $15,000,000 every year to cover them, yet they give the $20,000 for the GO bond advertising campaign???"
And answer back . . .
It's Shook, I'm pretty sure they have a loophole. The Cordish fiasco . . . Illegal? Should be. Is it? Probably not.
Even better . . .
CHECK THIS EXCLUSIVE DONOR LIST COMPILED BY KANSAS CITY TAX FIGHTERS KEEPING AN EYE ON BIG COMPANIES WHO SUPPORT GO BONDS WITH NEARLY $400,000 IN DONATIONS SO FAR!!!
Clearly, Kansas City big biz has an interest in pushing these property taxes . . . Soon, voters will decide if they share those concerns.
Developing . . .
Kansas City has the best democracy money can buy.
ReplyDeleteIf the bond issue passes, Shook likely will get a nice return on that money.
ReplyDeleteKC crony politics are bankrupting this city. Why should residents vote to support these big companies?
ReplyDeleteVote NO.
Vote NO until the 1% of Kansas City also pay. This is a simple vote 1-2-3 NO on GO.
ReplyDeleteHow many ways can we screw thee?
ReplyDeleteApparently there is an infinite number of ways here in KCMO
You need to put a current picture up of Jolie.
ReplyDeleteNot one from 20 years ago.
How about a council person introduce an ordinance that says: if you or your corporation contribute to a ballot issue which passes, you or your corporation cannot experience any financial gain from the project (s) resulting from that ordinance. This would eliminate for play!
ReplyDeletePerhaps we need to start a class action lawsuit against these big donors and against city hall. They are getting reckless and somebody NEEDS to step in. Unfortunately, your typical liberal, shithead, Sly James voter is too stupid to do anything that will stop his agenda. Big Money firms like Burns and Mac are the only ones that will increasingly benefit off of the tax payer's backs.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Burns and McDonnell contributed $50,000......they want to be paid for the f--k up they created on the Brush Creek Project. In my opinion, they screwed that up by delaying the drainage of our storm sewers into Brush Creek to protect the Plaza......hence, Brookside floods, and the Plaza, 50 feet lower than my neighborhood, does not. Five times since, and including 1998, water has run through our streets.
ReplyDeletepeople's republic of brookside floods?
ReplyDeleteIt's not illegal because big money changed the laws.
ReplyDeleteBurns & Mac has a $1 Billion contract with Water Sevices!!!! $50,000 isn't even a footnote!!
ReplyDeleteAnd there's a high probability that NOT A ONE of those "donors" pays property tax or, if they do, pay only a small percentage of what they should be paying.
ReplyDeleteIf they were truly partners to the city and gave 2 dark brown clumps of shit about the city or the people, they'd step up and contribute to the effort of fixing infrastructure since many of the entities on that list have contributed to draining the city for a lot of years. But we all know pigs will fly before that happens.
Time to leave KC. Between the debt load, the giveaways, and the flooding, we are making our exit plans.
ReplyDelete^^^ Sad but true.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Kansas.
ReplyDeleteIf the GO BONDS FAIL these guys will have spent money for nothing. Make sure they don't get what they want VOTE NO NO NO
ReplyDeleteVote 1-NO 2-NO 3-NO Then get that Jolly Justice recall petition ready to go. If she wa gone we would have one less empty head, one less fool, one less big smiling dummy.
