PARTICIPATION IN KANSAS CITY CITIZENS TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE PLUMMETS AMID DISPUTES OVER CRIME & PUNISHMENT!!!
The local rate of killing and violence continues to trend upward after last year's 36% increase in murders.
Meanwhile, a highly touted group devised by Mayor Sly James has suffered a serious drop-off in attendance after introductory meetings celebrated by mainstream media.
Credit where it's due . . . Less than two dozen people attended this weekend meeting but they are some of the most dedicated and committed people in all of Kansas City proper when it comes to finding solutions to curb violent crime . . .
Frustrations Evident In Community Discussion Focused On Combating Violence
Interestingly . . .
NOTICE THAT SO MANY OF THE POLITICALLY CONNECTED APPOINTEES OF THIS KANSAS CITY CRIME TASK FORCE HAVE FAILED TO EVEN SHOW UP ONCE!!!
Additionally . . .
Here's an interesting passage from the report that shows a stumbling block in the conversation about Kansas City crime . . .
"Although several residents echoed an endorsement of KC NoVA and Aim4Peace, a few disagreed in regard to enforcing harsh penalties for possession of deadly weapons.
"Shane, who withheld his last name from the group, pointed out that for many low-income families robbing a store is an act of desperation, and incarcerating people only means there’s one less provider for a family."
Now, the idea of KC crooks as Jean Valjean — Stealing loaves of bread to save their families from hunger — is an interesting but also incorrect notion. As the local rate of violence rises the trend that authorities and media have noticed is increased deadly fighting connected to drugs and gangs along with a growing number of violent domestic disputes gone horribly wrong . . . Like it or not, while poverty might be a factor . . . The spate of Kansas City killing isn't motivated by a struggle against starvation but instead might represent the rising influence of drug gangs and a serious lack of dispute resolution skills among the increasingly uneducated and frustrated working-class among every demographic.
You decide . . .
Typical KC.
ReplyDeleteAll talk but no follow through.
typical crooks, justifying their criminal behavior.
ReplyDeleteTKC, what you need to point out is that there were no police or former police officers appointed to this group. People who have dedicated their lives and careers to fighting crime were excluded from the discussion by the mayor in an oversight he still hasn't explained.
ReplyDeleteNo oversight at all. That was by design.
DeleteCrime and negative thinking go hand in hand. The messages sent to the community can be indicative of what the community becomes. Need some positives from those who have access to print and electronic media.
ReplyDeleteThis group has no authority to do anything except serve as a PR game for the mayor and have a cute little luncheon now and then. This is more about fighting bad press than bad crime.
ReplyDeletetypical....
ReplyDeletenigger behavior.
exactly what I expected.....why aren't folks like me invited to participate ?
ReplyDeleteWhen no ones listening or shows up that means they've given up on you!
ReplyDeleteAll the Sly James and crew marketing bullshit is starting to implode now. Hopefully the columns will crumble quickly so the repair work can actually begin in earnest.
ReplyDeleteThis was to resolve crime just like shot spotter, various groups against crime, economic development, East Patrol and the public safety sales tax renewal. None of it has panned out.
ReplyDeleteWe threw TONS of cash at the Kansas City public school system during the 90's. "Modernization" - Build it and they will come!
ReplyDeleteLook how that panned out.
So Shane thinks that if yo get caught robbing a place you shouldn't be forced to go to jail because it just makes matters worse.
ReplyDeleteThat is no doubt the most lunatic thing I have heard since Byron last opened his mouth.
Committing a crime is never the right thing to do. Thinking you have a right to do so is proof that this country is quickly losing its morals.
"Shane, who withheld his last name from the group, pointed out that for many low-income families robbing a store is an act of desperation, ....."
ReplyDeleteExactly the kind of mindless rationalization of crime you'd expect from a pack of coons who are supposed to be doing something about crime. There will never be a dent in crime until there is accountability rather than excuses for thugs.
Good to see Justus got back in time from her groovy DFW airport tour to deal with this stupid crime thing.
ReplyDeleteWe all know how this works in the real world now days. Young (not so accomplished) law student exits law school and is immediately offered a paid internship by his father's associate/fraternity pal, etc. If the firm posts an opening, it's for PR purposes--the son of the insider already got the job. The golden lad will have to mess up big-time to be ejected from the inside track.
ReplyDeleteEveryone else? Good luck paying the bills.
these young folks are getting a Public Defender. The Clinton Prison System is packed full. Half of these prison have expired passed their years of use. There's black mold, polluted water, poor sanitation, bad food, substandard medical care, no fresh air, cramped facilities, mean guards, greedy corporate industries and Jay Nixon's fucked up parole board.
ReplyDeleteI had to shake hands with Justus's queer aide. I had to wash off lots of cum that rubbed off his sleezy hands!
ReplyDeleteI guess this toy train is supposed to fix our crime problems? Good luck with that. Seems like KC is going the way of detroit. That's bad news because I hear detroit is actually trying to improve their problems.
ReplyDeleteSo, these po' folk get over $600 per month for SNAP but must steal a loaf of bread? Bullshit. And there you have it, which has been the center of the problem for decades, a denial of reality. And THAT is why nothing ever changes...and never will.
ReplyDeleteI guess Black Lives Don't Matter if some of the loudest protesters can't even to public meetings to discuss violence.
ReplyDeleteKC needs to get serious about addressing these problems and stop with the games.
Good luck with that!
ReplyDeleteThe most violent crime is in the depopulating cities. Don't think there's a quick fix for Sly James
ReplyDeleteWe spend all this money on feeding poor people. Churches and missions are feeding people everyday. There is no excuse for robbing a store for a loaf of bread.
ReplyDeleteI bet if you walked to the house next door and asked for a couple of slices of bread to feed your kids, people would hook you up.
Too proud to beg, but self-righteous enough to steal.
Maybe marching down Prospect might help things. I mean, driving down Prospect in a mock funeral prosession because folks are too fat to march anymore. Snark.
