TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! INSIDER: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE OF JACKSON COUNTY MURDER SUSPECT COULD HAVE ELECTION CONSEQUENCES!!!
A weekend of presidential campaigning and the upcoming primary has distracted locals and cause many to forget about the crime problem that continues to impact the viability of Kansas City.
Accordingly, the release of a murder suspect from Jackson County jail reveals not only some of the challenges that voters could pose to elected officials but also holds political implications that could be further reaching that locals realize.
Moreover . . .
THE CONVERSATION ABOUT SWITCHING UP CONTROL OF THE JACKSON COUNTY JAIL STARTS NOW @ TKC!!!

Jackson County Jail Embarrassment
The revelation that a murder suspect was "accidentally" released at the Jackson County jail is a major bit of bungling by both the White and Baker administration during their filing periods.
Let's call the balls and strikes here: Competent leaders just don't let (alleged) killers loose by accident. Also, the fact that nobody alerted the media that this killer was on the loose for over two weeks (normally they would go public and ask for help finding a suspect), or even told the victims family (which Baker's office is REQUIRED to do by state law IMMEDIATELY upon his escape), tells me that everyone was playing with proverbial fire by trying to keep it secret from the public in hopes they could catch the guy before the story leaked. This is a major credibility error for the White administration in only his 2nd month in office.
Reality check: If this alleged killer kills again while he is on the run thanks to his bungled release and attempted cover-up, it could be the beginning of the end for two political careers. So there is a lot at stake until this fugitive is caught again.
All of this begs the question: Should the sheriff run the jail instead of the politicians at the county? It has been a topic of debate since the charter passed in the 70's, but what is clear is that these problems don't seem to occur in county's that have law enforcement officials, not greasy politicians, running their jails.

Republicans need to get in there and start making challenges at these seats.
ReplyDeleteThe case for reelecting these folks is getting tougher.
Another murderer on KC streets. I guess he didn't have to wait to get a slap on the wrist from a Jackson county judge.
ReplyDeleteThe filing period is still open. Now is the chance for people to step up.
ReplyDeleteNot that it honestly makes a difference. What's ANOTHER murderer on the streets matter here in killa city misery.

ReplyDeleteFwiw, sheriffs are greasy politicians. The backside of my concealed permit is a political campaign advertisement for Sharp.
ReplyDeleteNew slogan: Anybody but Jean.
ReplyDeleteIf they sat on this, they should both be recalled TODAY!!! Where is the media on this type of stuff?!
ReplyDelete2:09, the media mostly regurgitate the news that officialdom and special interest groups feed them. If there is no press release there is no story.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Jean Baker sat on this and said nothing is totally insane. She put the community at risk in the hope that she could save her ass. Also, why in the hell is she dismissing murder charges then refilling them later? That's the same shit that got her sanctioned in the Buchli murder trial. Is she that bad at her job?
ReplyDeleteOne more Steve Nixon fuck up.
ReplyDeletePfffft This is just a pack of crooked libtards letting their pawns out to vote.
ReplyDeleteNOTHING that actually has anything to do with the responsibilities of county government ever affects elections in Jackson County.
ReplyDeleteJust whose friends and supporters get what is what drives elections.
The assessment/tax issue was a catastrophe for years. Who cared?
The electeds folded and put the medical tax on the ballot even after it was introduced to them just two weeks before the filing deadline. Who cared?
The jail is already being investigated by the fed. Who cares?
Insider contracts worth tens of thousands a month are regularly issued without bids or disclosure. Who cares?
COMBAT has blown through hundreds of millions over the years without any impact on drugs or crime in the county. Who cares?
Anyone who wants to run for re-election will do so and win.
No accountability whatsoever.
This latest blip isn't so much as a pimple on the elephant's butt.
Vote no on all judges and anybody dealing with the judicial system. Crooks run the criminal justice system that's why they can't seem to do anything right. Vote no.
ReplyDeleteI have serious questions about Frank's ability to lead and what he's really doing in the county. He's obviously not minding the store.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need some guy who is just popular because he played baseball.
It's a damn shame that Jackson county can't do better.
What tipped you off? Professional sports memorabilia? Name the last time an athlete was both good at and qualified to be an elected official? I'll wait. They dont call them jocks for nothing but he's Black. Being stupid and being a ball player gets a free pass anywhere liberals are saturated.
DeleteIf Frank does not have the balls to fire the deadwood that Skippy hired in key positions then he is just an Uncle Tom.
ReplyDeleteKeeping a lid on this ought to get whoever is supposed to keep the public informed of shit like an accused killer being on the loose fired. Fuck Frank if he isn't going get rid of these assholes
ReplyDeleteWhite and Baker are proven liars now.
ReplyDeleteAnother slogan for you TKC.
ReplyDeleteJean mus go!
white and baker must go. Tarwater in 2018!
ReplyDeleteJack Kemp. Bill Bradley.
ReplyDeleteShit just got real at the county. Heads need to roll. And thanks to this BLOG for doing the STAR's work for them. What say yea Michael Hendrix? Yael? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteYou expect the Star or Hendrix to actually ask real questions?
ReplyDeleteOnly those with short memories think that having the Sheriff run the jail is an automatic cure-all. Anyone remember Hippo Owsley?
ReplyDeleteFrankly, running a jail is a headache that no one should want to have. If someone offers it he should run away as fast as his hot-rod will go.
But, if a paperwork screw-up led to a guy getting out improperly, what difference would it make who ran the jail?
