TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! TKC BLOG COMMUNITY CRUNCHES KANSAS CITY ROYALS WORLD SERIES PARADE CROWN NUMBERS!!!

We despise the urge from true blue Royals fanboys to mindlessly accept pronouncements from politicos or public officials without proof.

In Kansas City, our blog community leads the way with irreverent and sometimes cheeky questions about all of the civic propaganda and happy talk that's used to steal hand over fist from taxpayers.

To wit . . .

DOUBLE PERSPECTIVES RIGHT NOW REGARDING KANSAS CITY ROYALS WORLD SERIES PARADE CROWD SIZE!!!

Let's lead off with a bit of support for larger crowd size claims and a thoughtful examination of the numbers:

"I agree that the number is inflated simply because of the source. That said, the geometry works."

"If you allow a 2x2 square - 4 square feet per person for a packed crowd standing, you need 3,200,000 square feet to accommodate 800,000 people.

"The square root of 3,200,000 is 1,788. So you need a space less than 1/3 mile x 1/3 mile. If you look at the crowd at Union Station, you’re not too far off and that doesn’t factor the people up and down grand for 2 miles.

Just a thought."

Now, we take a turn at another tweak on the analysis . . .

"Regarding the parade estimates"

"3-mile route (I understand was actually 2.8) X 5280 feet/mile X 50 feet (25 feet on each side of the street) = 792,000 square feet.

"This means that 800,000 people had approximately 1 square foot to stand on to watch the parade.

"At 2 square feet (roughly 17 inches X 17 inches), the crowd size becomes 400,000.

"At 4 square feet (2 feet X 2 feet), the crowd size becomes 200,000."

Now . . .

This critical crowd analysis has been one of our most popular posts of the week and we thank all of those who contributed with intelligent critiques both supportive and in disagreement.

WHATEVER THE CASE . . . THE POINT HERE IS THAT KANSAS CITY CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO ACCEPT THE WORDS OF POLITICOS WITHOUT EVIDENCE TO BACK UP THEIR CLAIMS AND THE TKC BLOG COMMUNITY LEADS THE WAY IN TALKING NUMBERS WITH EVIDENCE, PROOF AND ANALYSIS WHEN IT COMES TO DOWNTOWN HYPE!!!

As always, you decide . . .

  1. Is this the shit that people do when they don't have real jobs?

    Sure Tony, more anger/misery/conspiracy theories.

40% of the blog posts had you as an ass hat.

  3. This sounds like some of that bullshit that Buttholio runs out as " expert TKC insider information" from the likes of the "Parking Lot Manager in Westport".

Simply horseshit. But then TKC's 9 regulars eat it up......

  4. Shut up you big baby,,.. it was a lot of people...
"Mom..Mommy... they said it was 800,000... nuh uh mom it wasn't, right mom...huh...right mummy"

  5. I think the media are saying the crowd was "up to" 800,000.

As anyone who has ever responded to a sale that promised savings of "up to" a certain number knows, that number is somewhere between zero and 800,000.

  6. This is what happens when you give idiots calculators and Google. The numbers are good enough. If we accept your independent sources you easily get between 600 to 800 thousand. The huge crowds along the route were in addition to the union station crowd. If you were there you know it was an amazing number of people and far beyond anything we have ever seen in this area, EVER! "Johnny Gomes Mike Drop"

  7. Here's a better question:

In thirty years, what will be remembered about 2015 by more Kansas Citians?

    a) The Royals winning the World Series, and the subsequent parade, or

    b) Some sixteenth-rate sniping bullshit about nonsense that makes no difference whatsoever from the AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY?

    I'd have to vote a.

  8. I'll bet this shit ends up in the Smithsonian!

  9. 6:39, what the fuck ? You mean you are not buying into Tony Gaping Buttholio's bullshit ?

Cool. Glad to see there are actually working minds still inhabiting the area.

  11. I go with the second estimate on the crowd numbers for the lower figure, it seems much more plausible.

  12. Also agree we can't just take Sly's word on things anymore, his defenders seem very nasty.

  13. City hall politics has always attracted some of the worst people in town. That's why our whole system needs to be reformed. Obviously, we need better management of construction public events in Kansas City. The bus system was horrible.

  14. Mr. Trump Mr. Trump time for you to get Tony to look for Sly's birth certificate!!!!!

  15. ^^^^
Get a little bit better in your political debate, this blog makes fun of trump too. He's almost as laughable as the idea that a train is going to save downtown.

  16. Paul "The Chin" Wilson sure is trolling the comments a lot these days.

  17. You have it all wrong Tony. 800,000 is the number of man hours city bureaucrats are going to charge back claiming they were doing work for the city during the Royals parade when they were actually out on the streets screwing the pooch.

  19. Paul/Polar Bear can kiss my ass at the corner of 11th and Grand tomorrow at 8 if the spineless bastard has the balls to show up.

He'll probably be to busy kissing James' ass instead.

  21. this is the same pack of clowns and grifters that claims, with a straight face, that Kansas City gets 24 million tourists a year, about as many as Paris (yes, the one in France) gets.
