The At-Large race in Kansas City's 3rd District is open. Quinton Lucas has emerged as the early leader in the race but all of the candidates have their own unique ideas about how to improve Kansas City from the perspective of the urban core.

There ain’t no question here if there be a man of the cloth on the ballot, you vote for him or you will face the wrath of Jesus on Judgement Day for opposing one of his agents here on Earth. Do I get an Amen?!? There is a demagogic change coming to the map of Kansas City and we need men of the cloth like the Reverend Gordon to lead us. Congressman Reverend (don’t ever forget he is a man of the cloth) Cleaver ain’t getting any younger so we need new and younger reverends to pick up the torch from him.
ReplyDeleteThe Third District hates female candidates partly because they do not appreciate women's rights. It's hard to live in this district as a woman with any expectation that there be a leadership opportunity available and supported by the community. The love affair with any old Black male is tiresome.
