Kansas City's "Fighting Fourth" is up for grabs again and the At-large race is more competitive than most people thing.
Take a look at the contenders both young and experienced looking to overthrow the career reign of Councilman Jim Glover . . .
Bryan Stalder
Jared Campbell
Katheryn Shields
More to come . . .
Send lawyers, guns and money.
ReplyDeleteMy money is on Kathrine the great. She will eat up the competition!
ReplyDeleteMy butt hair will get more votes than Stalder.
ReplyDeleteBased upon this video questionnaire, if I was a resident of this district.....
ReplyDeleteI would vote for: Bryan Stalder
But you are not a resident of this district 6:42.
DeleteUnlike you, we aren't "single issue voters", which is part of the reason we are the most politically important District. It's also because we are the most important part of the city. We are the economic and cultural backbone of KC, the only thing separating it from the Springfields and Wichitas and Sioux Cities of the world. We are why people move here, why they stay here, why the suburbs exist around here, why there are sports and museums and jobs and businesses.
And, though it's not the only thig we care about, we OVERWHELMINGLY support the streetcar and it's expansion.
So you and Single Issue Stalder can find your way the fuck out of our city.
There you go again, you militant boutique rail guy you. When you find a clue about how to market your ideas, it'll die of loneliness.
Delete@5:45. Yes, and for TKC ...older whiskey, younger women, faster horses and more money...(Tom T. Hall)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Bryan isn't so bad. Better him than old farts Katheryn or Glover.
ReplyDeleteShields gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteJust three more reasons not to live in KCMO.

ReplyDeleteBwahahahahahahahaha
Great interviews TKC. This is the first time a get to hear what these candidates stand for.
ReplyDeleteI did like the Kathy Shields interview. I agree that demolition is not the solution for all problems and too many times, especially on the East side that's what people push for. Demolition solves nothing. I also appreciated the fact that she saw value in planning. The City's planning department is a disaster, understaffed - in part due to overwhelming corruption - and under funded. Those were great answers that may sway my vote.
ReplyDelete8:23 comment made a LOT of assumptions (single-issue voter? non-resident? WTF?), but then someone who apparently is such a zealous streetcar supporter while keeping their snobbish head up their ass can't be expected to think straight!
ReplyDeleteHey Bryan could you clear your throat any more? World record.
