This morning we've put together a great deal of research and links that are more useful than anything other news outlets are offering for the upcoming election, today we want to share an important compilation with our blog community.
CHECK THE INTERNETS KANSAS CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN ELECTION GUIDE 2015 . . . JUST IN TIME FOR THE PRIMARY!!!
We didn't want to bog this down with punditry or opinion disguised as reporting like a couple of other local Dead Tree outlets have done or are going to do . . . Instead, it's more important to serve as a RESOURCE where people can START their research.
Accordingly . . .
OUR CITY COUNCIL ELECTION GUIDE FEATURES THE BEST LINKS FOR EVERY CANDIDATE AND A LOOK AT THEIR TOP WEB OFFERING!!!
Sadly, it seems as if the spirit of sharing on the Internet is being threatened and just about everybody wants to turn the web into their own walled-garden.
Here @ TKC we've always believed that the strength of the net relies on the power to encourage people do their own research and sending, directing or aggregating people toward a wide variety of places all over the Internets.
And so, what we've tried to do in this COMPREHENSIVE KANSAS CITY INTERNET ELECTION GUIDE 2015 is to direct voters to all of the candidates from across Kansas City who have posted content IN THEIR OWN WORDS so that voters can make up their minds and just the candidates by their web offerings.
There are a few FB pages in here but it's nice to see most candidates posting ABOUT or MISSION STATEMENTS to their campaign websites in order to lay out their background, qualifications and intent in pursuit of political office.
Hopefully, given the slew of election projects we're struggling to complete right now, this is just the beginning of an effort to encourage voters to think about their representatives critically and at least attempt to ask tough questions or maybe even use the Internets for something besides selfies.
And so, here are the candidates, take a look:

Developing . . .
Not too shabby, thanks for putting this together T.
ReplyDeleteIt's not what you know, it's how you present what you know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me carpal tunnel of the scrolling finger.
ReplyDeleteFacebook isn't the Internet.
ReplyDeleteAnd so, we hope this helps voters START their research and learn more about the candidates in the upcoming primary election.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
If they even look like they have a few wrinkles, vote for the one who does not. It's not scientific but sometimes that's all you have to go on. I'm not voting any old people in office.
ReplyDeleteWow man, I'm impressed with how many big pic's you can put in one post.
ReplyDeleteWhich one is the candidate who supports partying, binge drinking.
ReplyDeleteZzzzzz
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^^
ReplyDeletePosting here consistently for two years that I've counted.
Sorry TKC, I'm only voting for black candidates this year. I appreciate the info but all I need to know is this: Vote Black!
ReplyDeleteWho makes the best pancakes?
ReplyDeleteNo retreads!
ReplyDeleteAs a white person, I will be voting 100% black as well. Hopefully these black candidates realize what Troy Schulte has done to the black community and can his ass.
ReplyDeleteSpecial Intertubes Edition .. as if Gen YouTube gives a shit about voting.
ReplyDeleteScary
ReplyDeleteMr. Anthony had the chance to impress me before I went to his web page and his only solution for revitalizing neighborhoods was raising purported abandoned properties. I'll be voting against this retread. He's clearly not a visionary and represents more of the same. To top it off, he's bragging about being a City employee. FAIL!
ReplyDeleteCorrection "razing"
ReplyDeleteDid you forget Louie Wright?
ReplyDeleteShame on these candidates. They should all be calling for the recall of Sly James. That is the reality.
ReplyDeleteLouie Wrong isn't a northlander, nor does he have any business asking for our votes. He did nothing for the northland when he was on the fire department. He has zero support from any northland residents, and thinks by putting signs everywhere that he will get our support.
ReplyDeleteScrew Louie Wright, its my district and I won't vote for him.
ReplyDeleteAnd given the lawsuits you can't blame TKC for not posting that POS crap.
A lot of these candidates will be cleaned out of the primary quickly. That is good news for all of us. We need to ask ourselves who is the most professional and community minded of these people and then vote accordingly.
ReplyDeleteThe fewer people vote, the more power the last remaining voters will have. Now it's our job to send these people a message.
Wright is an asshole, worst candidate running and that is saying a lot.
ReplyDeleteI only vote for gay candidates! Go Jolie!
ReplyDeleteI live in a neighborhood full of fire fighters, they won't put his signs up either. Says a lot when they won't vote for him!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Dennis Anthony was a City employee, but those who contacted him for help found him to be an EXEMPLARY City employee.
ReplyDeleteI voted for him.
And Nash 6th in-district.
The rest: meh
