It seems that in death Missouri auditor Tom Schwiech might get his revenge on Missouri Republican leaders as a growing movement emerges against rumors of antisemitic GOP back channel talk takes hold in Kansas City.

"WILL YOU JOIN THE RISING EFFORT TO DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF MISSOURI REPUBLICAN PARTY CHAIR JOHN HANCOCK AMID SO MANY MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPORTS ABOUT SHAMEFUL RUMORS AND ALLEGATIONS OF AN ANTISEMETIC WHISPER CAMPAIGN?!?!"

That was the question sent my way in an early morning message.

The rage against alleged antisemitism isn't a TKC allegation or something that we're hearing . . . This is the MAINSTREAM political discourse out there right now that dead tree media isn't bothering to at least blog.

Here's the published word of no less than the Washington Post . . .

WaPo: "This week, Schweich seemed to be getting anxious about some comments he alleged Hancock made about his faith. He told the AP that he had heard rumors that Hancock made some comments last year that Schweich was Jewish and he thought Hancock should step down from his position as party chairman, to which he was just elected. Messenger, from the Post-Dispatch, said in his statement that Schweich told him he thought Hancock meant to “harm him politically in a gubernatorial primary in which many Republican voters are evangelical Christians.”

The New York Times confirms the Missouri politico speaking on the allegations:

NYT: “I don’t have a specific recollection of having said that,” Mr. Hancock told The Associated Press on Thursday, “but it’s plausible that I would have told somebody that Tom was Jewish, because I thought he was, but I wouldn’t have said it in a derogatory or demeaning fashion.”

Earlier, he issued a statement calling the death tragic, saying, “Tom will be remembered as a tenacious, energetic, effective elected official who worked tirelessly on behalf of the citizens of this state and this nation.”

Now, this antisemitic talk isn't a good look for Republicans in Missouri or anybody else for that matter.



Given that a racist from Missouri recently shot up a local community center, given that the Israel is the only thing resembling a Democracy in the Middle-east and because the chatter is just plain nasty . . . Here's what we know.

MO GOP CHAIR HANCOCK IS FACING EXTREME PUSH BACK FROM HIS OWN PARTY AND SERIOUS CALLS TO STEP DOWN!!!

Real talk: This bit of political discourse simply makes Missouri politics look even more backward and bigoted.

To be fair . . . It's important to offer a say to Chairman Hancock on this topic and so far he has mostly expressed his condolences for the late Missouri Auditor. But it's simply a matter of FACT that allegations made by Schwiech before his death are now being investigated and met with rage as a Missouri GOP rebellion against party leaders ensues.
