TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! SHOCKING FREEDOM, INC. KANSAS CITY ENDORSEMENT LIST: NO CONFIDENCE IN KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES!!!
Freedom, Inc. is Kansas City's defining political organization in the urban core and tonight their list of endorsements should cause some serious fallout through the local field of election contenders.
First and foremost . . .
FREEDOM, INC REFUSES TO ENDORSE KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES FOR REELECTION!!!
This TOTAL REJECTION OF KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES FROM THE FOREMOST URBAN CORE POLITICAL GROUP is a direct challenge to the Mayor's agenda in the inner city.
Moreover, it's still a sign that hard feelings remain in the aftermath of the contentious streetcar election.
It's worth noting that the Mayor did not screen with the group.
Councilman Scott Wagner in the 1st District At-Large earned the same treatment and will get NO ENDORSEMENT from Freedom, Inc.
Here are the remainder of the Freedom, Inc. endorsements:
2nd District At-Large Endorsement: Teresa Loar
3rd District: Incumbent Councilman Jermaine Reed
3rd District At-Large: Quinton Lucas
4th District: MO State Sen. Jolie Justus
4th District At-Large: Katheryn Shields
5th District: Jackson County Legislator Ken Bacchus
5th District At-Large: Lee Barnes, Jr.
6th District: MO House Rep. Kevin McManus
6th District At-Large: Scott Taylor
##########
There are a lot of surprises on this list.
Freedom, Inc. didn't go with their own and picked Quinton Lucas over Dee Evans.
The switch to team Katy over incumbent Council Dude Glover is a bold choice.
And the rebuke of Mayor Sly James along with Council dude Wagner should send a clear message about the City Hall agenda in Kansas City's urban core.
On a personal bloggy note . . . This is the 30th TKC post today so we might
So, you're telling me that the Mayor won't be talking about Montgall during his state of the city speech?
ReplyDeleteWhy should they? He's not giving them any money.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor is kind of a sellout, no?
ReplyDeleteIt's about time somebody black called his punkass out.
ReplyDeleteIn the last mayoral primary, after tens of thousands of dollars were funneled to Freedom and promptly disappeared as usual, the TOTAL number of votes from the entire 3rd District was 5000.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who ponies up anything to Grifter Inc deserves to lose and Sly's no fool.
At least not in this case.
Sly is a straight up uncle tom who tries to be a bully. Freedom should hire me to kick his ass.
ReplyDeleteBut they endorsed Jermaine Reed? That's illogical.
ReplyDeleteYou all still waiting words on how Sly is going to get voted out? Rail getting pulled from the ground? Marathon cancelled.
ReplyDeleteOMG, dilusional.
It's delusional. ^^^ KCPS graduate - or not.
ReplyDeleteClay Chastain is a more stand up African-American then Sly James. Deal with it Sly. You'll never get Cleaver's job.
ReplyDeleteWell, you can see who paid their money to take the ride.
ReplyDeleteI guess they could not extort enough out of Sly.
Katy Shields must have promised lotso cash. Probably serial numbers from the 1960s brought back from Vegas in The Skim.
ReplyDelete.....meanwhile in the quicksand land of corporate dinosaurs
ReplyDeleteMcClatchy (MNI) nearly extinct parent to the Kansas City Star did hit, yet again, a new 52-week low intraday Thursday at $2.42/share while managing to close the day at $2.49
We maintain a first target level of $2.25, and add a second target of $2.13 (May 1, 2013 low).
Friday players will want to watch the first 30 minutes of trading as that will be key. If (MNI) is lower than $2.49 at 9AM Central, it should continue to move lower throughout the morning.
9:56pm That's what politics has always been about in the US of A. Why do you think blacks have had limited access? But you and the rest of white Kansas City can have Sly. I'll take an authentic white man any day over an Amos and Andy, self-hating Negro fool.

ReplyDeleteSly James is hardly self hating
ReplyDeleteWhat does self hating got to do with anything. I'm gonna get a law degree when I get out of the marines because I hate myself?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteBRAVO for the Mayor!
A Non-Endorsement from Freedom means the Mayor ISN'T throwing enough cash, backroom deals and sweetheart deals to the crooks and criminals at Freedom.
Their clout is gone. Their membership is down to a handful of truly bad people only with their self interests in mind.
I applaud Mayor James for his not kneeling down at the alter of Freedom. Or bending over for them.
ReplyDeleteLook at the fine, upstanding leadership at Freedom Inc - and years of under the table contracts, criminals on the board, and fines for Missouri Ethics violations...
Who would want their endorsement?
They're a FUCKING JOKE.
The joke is Sly does not need any endorsements or any money, but he continues to raise funds. He wants to pick the Council.
ReplyDelete11:49 PM
ReplyDeleteBingo
Well, I'm going to think of something clever and witty to post this morning so I can start my day with a wow look at me I can post on the internet aren't I special moment!
ReplyDeleteReporting for duty sir!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning
ReplyDeleteLet's rock
ReplyDeleteLet's rumble!
ReplyDeleteChief Techneeulogical and Innnovaezion Occifer For Sly James!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Sly realizes yet his act is wearing thin?
ReplyDeleteFreaking rubes
ReplyDeleteWe need a sporting park on every corner and soccer mom in every brew pub!
ReplyDeleteEverything would be better if we all carried guns.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to fill in today for Tony. Stay tuned for another exciting day at TKC.

Okay 7:36 AM - you are so wrong, but that was kind of funny, and quite good.
ReplyDeleteThe east side is not the "urban core".
ReplyDeleteIts not really urban anymore because its too depopulated, and its certainly not the "core" of anything.
Urban is not a synonym for "black"
Would ya settle for Black Core?
ReplyDeleteHas anybody checked on Tony?
ReplyDeleteOr is that lazy Mexican just sleeping in as they're wont to?
Probably still working on nawing his arm off.
ReplyDeleteJolie Justus is not a Senator anymore.
ReplyDeleteKen Bacchus is not a Jackson County Legislator anymore.
Elected office is not a lifetime title...
Hello?
ReplyDeleteThis is odd. Anyone file a missing blogger report?
ReplyDeleteWe have your "Tony" and are readying the probes.
ReplyDeleteSo we citizens and taxpayers don't even get some sand put down on or skating rink side streets?
ReplyDeleteYour not getting JACK SQUAT! Crash into a fire hydrant and suck it.
ReplyDeleteIf you had a democratic system for City Government instead of a City Manager, you would have nice things like that. But you don't so fuck you. Pay for the fender-benders!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen Theresa Garza Ruiz and a shotgun in the vicinity of Tony's house this morning?
ReplyDelete7:59: That's just Mensa boy sobering up. Once he's fully recovered, he'll be back to posting in all caps.
ReplyDeleteThat may not be funny "Since She Has Time On Her Hands."
ReplyDeleteNO you citizens and taxpayers don't get some sand put down on your "skating rink" side streets.
ReplyDeleteGo buy your own sand and do it.
Maybe call the offices of Lynn Bratcher? She might know where he is.
ReplyDeleteYeah! What Troy said!
ReplyDeletePass the pie Yolanda.
So you're saying the Mayor is an uncle Tom.
ReplyDelete2/20/15, 9:17 AM
ReplyDeleteNo we are saying that Freedom Inc is a lying sack of shit whose leadership should be behind bars.
Is that clear enough for you or do we have to write it on the side of a building with a can of spray paint?
Stop your whining. Deal with it. Put some skis on the front wheels of your cars!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't live downtown your not getting sand. Move to JOCO if you want snow and ice removal.
ReplyDelete8:26 AM I understand what you mean but in this town people can claim titles for infinity and still have it mean something 20 years later - despite having NOT done a single thing in their community since they were elected. Just look at all the hangers-on: Carol Coe, Ken Baacus, Sharon Brooks, Sandra Weaver, Terry Riley, James Tindall... and the list goes on and on. They'll be riding that "I was a councilman or woman to their grave and beyond. When your highest accomplishment is being a city council representative of county legislator, something is very wrong.
