ReplyDeleteSo in 1990, Kansas was rated as the 8th healthiest state in the union. It has since fallen to the middle rankings.
ReplyDeleteBrownback and the Legislature are about to fire half of the people in the state Department of Health and the Environment. In case you haven't been paying attention, Tea Party people don't believe the taxpayers should be underwriting public health and regulations to protect the environment. They also plan to replace public schools with vouchers so your kids can get a Christian education (whether they are Christian or not).
By the end of Brownback's term, Kansas will be a Third World shit hole like Alabama and Mississippi. Or Missouri, which for the last 30 years has let Interstate 70 crumble into one of the worst stretches of highway in the country.
By the way, the Republicans also plan to do the same thing to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, in case you haven't noticed.
