TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! COOK-OFF: KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR TDD ELECTION NIGHT GATES BARBECUE WATCH PARTY BATTLE!!!
The fight over the Kansas City Streetcar is heating up and about to boil over . . .
To wit . . .
BOTH KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN SUPPORTERS AND OPPOSITION WILL BE WATCHING ELECTION NIGHT RETURNS @ PARALLEL GATES BBQ LOCATIONS!!!
The Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar election results will be served with Kansas City's signature barbecue on Tuesday night.
Streetcar supporters will enjoy their special sauce @ Gates on Linwood & Main.
It's a nice effort to eat well and share good fortune with East Side denizens, but already we hear they'll be cracking down down at this location and they don't want "freeloaders" showing up.
Meanwhile . . .
Toy Train Streetcar opponents plan to savor election night @ returns on the Gates BBQ location on Paseo & Cleaver II Blvd.
Streetcar opponents say that this is sort of a reference to Congressman Cleaver calling rail transit "touristy frou-frou" back in the 90s.
So, no matter how this election turns out, things should get messy.
And readers got a taste of this juicy morsel FIRST on TKC.
Natch.
Developing . . .
Arianny is juicy.
ReplyDeleteGates on Linwood hosting the "let's rob taxpayer's and build a toy train" crew.
ReplyDeleteThe real opposition watch party is a private mansion in a gated neighborhood in Westphalia, MO, a wealthy suburb of St Louis.
ReplyDeleteWestphalia is a small town southeast of Jefferson City!!!
Deletewill they have coleslaw?
ReplyDeleteLol, heard that joke before!
ReplyDeleteOpponents of KC Streetcar gain edge. New numbers 42% support, 50% oppose.
ReplyDeleteSt Louis billionaires rejoice! Call Mayor buddies and tell them, don't worry, you guys just moved up in the federal money queue, we bought an election in KC, and they're going to stay a cowtown for at least another decade!
ReplyDeleteWe promised them magic buses and THEY FUCKING BOUGHT IT! Lulzers.
Not looking good for the toy train crowd. Maybe the fire department should deploy crews with nets tomorrow around the high rises.
ReplyDeleteThat stupid fucking Toy Train Boondoggle is going DOWN.......
ReplyDeleteVOTE NO NO NO NO NO
BHWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA
A is going down. Proving voters aren't rubes as David Johnson referred to them but are likely 200 times as intelligent as he is.
ReplyDeleteIs there a plot next to the medical research tax available for Question A? I'll volunteer to do the digging no charge to the taxpayers.
ReplyDeletePolls don't count, elections do. Ask Eric Cantor.
ReplyDeleteI'll be at The Pit, for those who want to join me. It's across the street from the Freedom Inc., offices!!
ReplyDeleteI just want everybody to vote.
Opponents of KC Streetcar gain edge. New numbers 42% support, 50% oppose.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Sanity will prevail!
Will Russ Johnson go into full metal jacket road rage tomorrow night in his SUV or man up as we like to say here in American and admit defeat?
ReplyDeletewin or lose Russ Johnson will still be the same constrictive muscle.
ReplyDeleteSheeeeet ! dis nigga gonna put ma i fo de train botton on an go git me sum free Q an den go too de otha lokashun an git me sum mo Q! i be full of free Q dat nite!!! fuk de train!
ReplyDeleteThe real supporters of this fiasco will be meeting privately at the Chamber of Commerce offices at Union Station.
ReplyDeleteEven if they lose, and they most likely will, they'll have a great time counting all the money that Sly and the gang have thrown their way already.
The original TDD doesn't come close to paying for even the Main Street line, so losing Tuesday night will be financially disastrous.
And how long will it take to pay back the $10 million for planning when you're paying interest-only from PIAC funds?
The balloon is about to burst and KCMO taxpayers have already lost big-time.
Thanks for checking in Pat. Report back to uncle Rexroth soon, so he can tell Slay the good news.
ReplyDeleteThen maybe you guys should get to work on those magic buses and driverless cars you promised.
If Russ loses he will just find 50 more people to form a TDD. He will go into a violent fit of rage till it happens, while avoiding Mike Mahoney.
ReplyDelete9:12 is a compelling argument for voting YES.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up, dudes?
ReplyDeleteKansas City always has an "out" clause in their contracts, so should the TDD go down, then Kansas City can just cancel the contracts with Burns and Mac and HDR and the tax payer won't be out as much.
ReplyDeleteFucking Gates on Main is usually out of burnt ends by 11:15 am on a weekday.
ReplyDeleteIs it because I'm white?
Oh shit. Watch out for some domestic violence calls to Mensa toddler tantrum boy's house when he starts putting his wee little angry fists through some Chinese drywall. Tomorrow night when his choo choo is denied.
ReplyDeleteHey fuck you Burns and Mac. Just one day early!
ReplyDeleteRuss Johnson Vote No on 7
ReplyDeleteDave Johnson Vote Yes on 7
Good to know these toy train guys are on the same page and thinking about whats best for the city and not just advancing their own personal careers.
Do they scratch each others asses instead of backs at these toy train meetings?
They think for themselves, instead of getting spoon fed show me tea party propaganda
DeleteI want to see Sly's reaction when he realizes he will be the next asshole out of a career in public service after trying to force this stupid streetcar down the public's throat. He is a really bad mayor - we can do better! Hell, Mark Funkhouser was better than Sly- he was just socially inept.
ReplyDeleteNot stepping foot in Gates. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteThanks to God. If it is denied, we can all hold hands and dance the conga line in a circle. If approved, we will stop our endless sniveling and move on in a productive manner.
ReplyDeleteOr, we can continue to pull on any loose thread and whine in a relentless manner.
I would bet on option 3.
And the winner is....Gates
ReplyDelete10:35 - shut up and go spoon the Mensa toddler and the scotch-drinking fool of a Mayor. You are part of the problem.
ReplyDelete@1103. So, you are down with Option 3 too?
ReplyDeleteLMAO
11:35 - pull on a loose string long and hard enough and the whole thing unravels. So yes, Option 3 is most attractive. LMFAO
ReplyDeleteEveryone loses because GATES IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND WORST BBQ IN TH CITY!!!!!
ReplyDelete11:50 trufax gates is garbage
ReplyDeleteJack Stack is the one that is overpriced.
ReplyDeleteIt is good though, but damn they like to get paid.
9:19 good to see the Chamber of Commerce & Grift reads TKC on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteOh BTW The Toy Train Gravy Soul Express is going down in just a few short hours. You thieving bastards enjoy what money you have fucked the taxpayers out of because it's over.
ReplyDeleteThe bow tie baboon of a mayor can kiss re-election good bye too.
Good grief. Let's see how the election turns out before we celebrate. (Remember Eric Cantor.)
ReplyDeleteIf the toy streetcar loses, stay off the streets as Mensa boy will no doubt be looking for people to run his car into.
Did that poor woman ever get paid for the damage he did in his last hissyfit?
Remember Vote NO today to cripple the city and ensure it remains stagnant and increasingly irrelevant for at least another generation.
ReplyDeleteIF you let the YES votes win, they will actually build a real, workable system and people, even people here who haven't ever been to real cities, will see how well transit works. We must search and destroy the future!
Knee Jerk Reactionaries unite. Keep KC stuck in the 80s!

6:30 has ONE good point. Instead of posting on TKC, get your asses to the polls today and vote, and hopefully vote not to bring back the 1950s in order to provide a certain lame duck council member a job with a potential city contractor.
ReplyDelete(Contrary to Mensa boy's many assertions otherwise, many first-class cities manage quite well without fixed rail transit.)
Name one, Steve.
DeleteVote NO. Buses are good enough for the east side. Only downtown deserves trains (and the plaza, cause they're going to extend it there no matter what).
ReplyDelete6:30 AM Or worse... keep Kansas City stuck in the 1950's where light rail died more than 60 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThey are digging up the the old streetcar tracks to lay the new streetcar tracks and nobody sees the irony?
ReplyDeleteThe true irony will be when today's hipster's kids demand the now new streetcar rails be removed by Burns and Mac while they are still paying for their parents' mistakes 30 years from now.
