TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! LOCAL 42 RESPONDS TO TKC POST AND TALKS KANSAS CITY FIRE SAFETY TAX!!!

This is a Kansas City MUST READ for tonight . . . Top of the page for as long as possible and then linked on the sidebar . . . Related to this morning's top news.
CHECK OUT A LOCAL 42 RESPONSE TO A TKC POST AND INFO ABOUT KANSAS CITY FIRE SAFETY TAX IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION!!!
Here's the word:
LOCAL 42 RESPONSE
"Despite a recent report of The Greater Kansas City Fire Fighters, Local 42's lack of involvement in the EMS deployment meetings, in the wake of the FLSA lawsuit, this information is just not accurate. Labor leaders have been working with fire administration to successfully come up with a plan that allows EMS professionals to continue to enjoy a quality schedule while adhering to the 40 hour workweek. This process has presented many different ideas and opportunities to fix the fire department's EMS response times by looking at the total overall deployment of services.
Since the end of last year, labor and management have been working together to build a new Strategic Plan for KCFD that includes a standard of coverage for the future, showing improved integration of EMS and fire suppression that will serve the community more efficiently and quicker than ever. Better equipment and the relocation of fire stations will improve service to the growing areas and needs of our city. This opportunity will also help resolve the previous issues that have been experienced since the merger. As we look forward to the voters passing KC Question 1 and renewing our Fire Safety Sales Tax, we anticipate the opportunity to implement these new ideas and strategies.
Kansas city's firefighters and emergency medical professionals continue to enjoy a quality relationship with fire management that allows us to equally participate in a labor-management committee process, which shapes this department's multiple missions and overall goal of protecting lives, property and managing disasters through extensive planning, training and preparation. The court's decision allows our Labor-Management Committee to improve our quality of service to Kansas City while reaching an even higher quality of working conditions for our members. -The Greater Kansas City Firefighters, Local 42 Leadership Team"

This post will also serve as tonight's playlist . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night . . .
Again, strange that Star wouldn't endorse the safety tax when they're endorsing all other kinds of touristy frou-frou stuff.
ReplyDeleteSo they're basically saying that they'll need a tax increase every year to get to grandma in time?
ReplyDeleteSounds reasonable, where do I sign up?
It's not a tax increase the vote is to renew an existing tax.
DeleteCommon sense and TKC are oil and water 657.
Deletetypical
ReplyDeletelet ti lapse then one less tax to pay
ReplyDeleteWhat 6:41? Typical that the firemen responded to the anonymous tipster's BS? I thought "typical" for the firemen was to sue Tony to get the name of the anonymous tipster and threaten them?
ReplyDeleteRemamber JJ's and how the KCFD fucked that up and a lady died.
ReplyDeleteFuck them
Union has known about this for 3 years. They just now are coming up with a plan. Thanks union. They want a pat on the back for something they should have been planning since the lawsuit started. So now yet another rush descion.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the original "tipster" is right, Berardi is incompetent? Why should the union do his job?
DeleteBlah blah blah blah blah.
ReplyDeleteFucking crooked assholes all of them.
ReplyDeleteLeadership team? WTF? Where's Cambiano? Louie Wright's assholes (like Sherwood Smith) still trying to pull the strings!
ReplyDeleteI say fire the whole fucking lot of them kick the union out on it's ass and get an outside fire board to run it as a private company like they do a lot in Johnson County hell they have nicer equipment than we do and better service.
ReplyDeleteIt's always the same old tired routine.
ReplyDeleteTax election coming up? Make all sorts of promises and plans to improve.
Tax passes in yet another low-turnout election.
The mayor and council pay no attention whatsoever to how the operation is managed.
And Schulte doesn't have the guts to even try to manage the mess so that residents actually get something for their money.
Blow millions for a few years and repeat.
What a clown show!
Again I ask: What sense does it make for people to support taxes for a choo-choo line but neglect public safety?
ReplyDeleteDon't give these corrupt brothers/cousins/sons/uncles any more of your money... they run the department like the Russian Black Hand mafia.
ReplyDeleteVote the fucker down.
Because the streetcar system will bring new commercial development along their routes. KCFD only sucks money from the general fund. Draining much-needed resources for innovation and creativity! Portland has the perfect rail system and we can soon be the Portland of the Midwest!
ReplyDeleteStreetcar issue and FD issues are not related.
ReplyDeleteTaxes !
DeleteTaxes !
DeleteThe Polar Bear says VOTE NO everything
ReplyDeleteTo hell with the GRIFTERS.....every damn one of them and all their pet rip-offs.
Bullshit! This fucking fire chief has made it clear he hates all of the former MAST employees and wants us all gone!
ReplyDeleteThe KCFD has ignored their previous strategic plans, we're supposed to believe their going to follow a new one?
ReplyDeleteEvery former MAST employee knows the ambulance service here has been a complete cluster fuck ever since KCFD took over. Smokey didn't know what he was doing and neither does Berardi.
ReplyDeleteStation 32 at 50th & Main was closed a few years ago. The then KCFD Chief claimed this would improve response times. How the f*%k does that work for anyone living in that area?
ReplyDeleteGive em nuthin. Cut some stations and firemen. Fires are WAY DOWN over the last few years.
ReplyDeleteThey never should have taken over MAST just to keep their numbers up.
They need to cut their salaries like everyone else! Featherbedders in black uniforms.
Why should we keep funneling money to a department apparently run by a bunch of inept firemen that violated federal laws to screw the emts? Sounds like Sly needs to clean house, starting with Schulte.
ReplyDeleteCK does nothing but raise taxes for the corporate and inner city welfare state.
ReplyDelete"Streetcar issue and FD issues are not related."
ReplyDeleteBULL SH*T! It's called priorities and Kansas City has lost direction with this mayor.
Nope. Typing in bold doesn't make you right, it just makes you more noticeably wrong.
DeleteThe 2 literally have nothing to do with each other. Can't use TDD taxes for the FD, can't use federal transportation grants for the FD. Can't use FD money to pay for transit.
The FD union should be happy about the streetcar. It brings residents who need emergency services, bring business that pay taxes, and creates good union jobs for the drivers, the mechanics and the workers building it.
Response times are getting worse but I got a flyer in the mail promising faster response times. If it's an existing tax which will be the same money, how can response times improve? Just more lying from union and political constituents
ReplyDeletePolling must be making them nervous
ReplyDelete"Kansas city's firefighters and emergency medical professionals continue to enjoy a quality relationship with fire management" HAHA Same old local 42 lies. They cover management's ass instead of standing up for their members.
ReplyDeleteFire them all like Stop being stupid says is what i say
ReplyDeleteFuck it just clean house at city hall period.
Nice try 8:09 but you failed I will still vote against all this shit.
ReplyDeleteGod there are some jerk people with dome seriously messed up priorities writing on here. Unfortunate if it fails, honestly the fire and police departments are the only thing holding this city up at this point
ReplyDelete12:02, your vote doesn't count anyway. You're a nigger felon and aren't registered to vote. Stay in independence where you belong.
