TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! SHOCK!!! WEEKEND SHOOTING @ STARLIGHT FRIGHTENS LITTLE MERMAID CROWD!!!

Here's a Kansas City art review as a finale to a TRIPLE HOMICIDE KANSAS CITY WEEKEND!!!

Check it:

SHOTS RANG OUT SATURDAY NIGHT @ THE STARLIGHT THEATER DURING THE LITTLE MERMAID MUSICAL!!!

Here's the 1ST PERSON TESTIMONY FROM AN EXQUISITE TKC TIPSTER and Starlight patron.

"TKC, I think your readers deserve to know about the shooting that terrified the crowd during the Little Mermaid show at The Starlight this weekend. Toward the end of the 2nd act there were 5 gunshots that echoed through the park that caused a stir among the Starlight audience. About 5 minutes later there was a police helicopter hovering overhead that completely disturbed the conclusion of the show. Leaving the theater, my daughter and I were frightened to go outside for fear of more gunshots. I should note that the audience was full of small children and families as well.

This year the Starlight schedule has been wonderful and I've enjoyed almost every show, but last night was too much and I'm afraid I can't jeopardize my safety just to see a good production. I'm sorry but the Starlight just seems to be a victim of a bad location."

Sadly, the same can be said for so many urban core busienss and violence and crime continue to stifle economic growth AND the arts in Kansas City.

More in a bit . . .

  1. Personally, I thought Flounder's performance was stilled and much to obvious.

  7. Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. When Detroit filed for bankruptcy the media put forward a huge array of theories for the city's dcline. One that went virtually unmentioned as to why the population of the city sank 250,000 in the past decade was the crime situation in Detroit: Detroit has a homicide rate ten times that of NYC. Memo to the city's business class and financial elite: None of your plans to develop and redevelop KCMO are going to come to fruition if the city's crime problems are not brought under control. Take care. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  8. Sounds like we need to immediately set up another driver's license check, stop another 500 cars, make 29 arrest and in doing so make the kind of impact on violent crime we have been praying for. Give 'em hell Slu.

  9. Dr. Evans, your comments are do correct. We stopped going to Starlight three years ago because of the high rate of crime in the area. I don't think is the people in the neighborhood because there are no people in the neighborhood. I have an acquaintance who lives very near Swope Park just off Gregory, and She has experienced no problems. she tells me that it is not her neighbors that she fears, but other individuals who come around to just make trouble.
I wish you had the answer, and I wish I had the answer too. I know that it is a very small portion of citizens on the East Side who are causing these problems.

  10. There are just to many undisciplined gun toting pants below day yass thug life feral gars around Starlight.....don't go back.

You have been warned. If you get hurt at Starlight, Westport or the Plaza it is not like you were not warned.

Save yourselves folks avoid these places like the plague....and the Zoo also on get in free day.

  11. If the punks are going to terrorize the city, perhaps the city should terrorize the punks. the cops need to be turned loose to use nightsticks at our shopping centers and deadly force at the first sign of aggression. Bury a few dozen Trayvons and maybe things will calm down.

  12. How about a name change to Spook Park?

  13. Nobody with a lick of sense would even go into KC at night- much less take a child there.

  14. 11:04 said the Absolute Truth...better pay attention folks.

  15. End all bus service to the east side. If they have to walk to civilization, they probably won't. Our bus drivers will thanks us.

  16. Why would anyone go to that part of town?..or Power & Light or Westport or 18th & Vine or the Plaza? Wise up KC. Detroit is looking better every day.

  17. Its the Swope Park area people, what do you expect? You think you are going to a black zip code and not going to hear gunshots?

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's ridiculous that party free-for-alls are allowed in the park on nights of Starlight shows. Or any night really as that's a known trouble spot.

There was one that night in the big shelter near Starlight.

  21. I live in blue springs. I used to take my family into the city to see shows at starlight but that stopped a few years ago. The neighborhood, and yes the people that live in it, are just too dangerous it is not worth the risk to myself or my family. Until Kansas City gets its crime under control this will be an ever growing trend and the city will keep falling further into decline.

  22. OK, I'm confused. Tony calls this a shooting at Starlight. His tipster describes shots "that echoed through the park."

    So what really happened?

  24. Totally Agree.

  25. Detroit is the canary in the American coal mine.

The sea change in demographics by way of immigration and birth rates mean the end of capitalism and one man one vote, or, a descent into the dystopia we now see in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The only hope for a future without the "blood in the streets" scenario will be by way of technology and cheap energy which will maintain the bread and circus for the Roman Mob.

Working against that scenario is the natural "greed is good" bedrock that American capitalism is built on.

Too many variables to predict acurately, but my money is on blood in the streets.

  26. It hasn't taken too long for the niggers to find another thing to totally ruin, Starlight Theater. It'll probably take a killing or two at the theater but they'll fuck it up, niggers always do. Enjoy your friendly, black neighbors, Kansas City, enjoy.

  27. Find old pictures of Swope Park before air conditioning. You'll find rows and rows of white people sleeping there outside at night. I'm guessing be the number people sleeping there they felt perfectly safe to expose themselves in such a way. So what has changed now besides air conditioning that makes people unsafe? Oh, that's right, black people. Wherever they are the world-over there is abnormal amounts of violence. Prove me wrong. That park used to be nice but they fucked up and started letting in dark element during the Korean War and look at it now. Certain days you can't go to the zoo. Remember the lady killed leaving there a few years ago by a random bullet? I don't think that was ever solved. They make paint peel and grass die. They just simply ruin everything they touch. Prove me wrong. And don't tell me about some one-block area of Atlanta that is all black and nice either. Find a large black area that is well-run and not riddled with crime and poverty. That place doesn't exist.

  28. Watch for mayor sly coming door to door to collect your guns. That's what Dems do.

  29. 1:11 is from I LOVE NIGGERSVILLE!!!

  30. If it echoed how do we know where it came from. Could have been fired on the mostly white Raytown side of the park. Could have been someone illegally hunting. Maybe illegal fireworks.

If this happens so often in that area why hasn't this woman and countless others heard shots more often on their trips to Starlight? Should be ongoing and constant right?

Not saying it's a garden spot but this one incident does not spell the end. Also black people slept in Swope Park too back in the day and I don't see anyone doing that in any park now, even in the white parts of town.

  31. We need to get real, hire more police and crack down on violence and disorderly behavior in our public venues.

Police need to patrol neighborhoods again.

Recenlty a better-off mostly black neighborhood near Swope Park had a rash of break ins and asked for patrols. Police said they didn't have enough people but would "try" and send someone through during the day. And they wonder how hot spots turn hot.

  32. All we need now is an incident or two at First Fridays in the Crossroads.....

  33. To late. You ain't gonna get much cop work out of KCPD. The whole damn lot of them have become bureaucratic glorified meter maids and masters of the hub cap details. You might see a narcotics officer or snitch working a few houses in daylight, but for the most part we are screwed in the crime war.

  34. Welcome to the wonderful world and benefits of the Sly James Regime.

  35. More police and less streetcars.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like the 11:03's idea of re-naming it Spook Park. Maybe Jermaine Reed can offer an amendment to the City Council to celebrate the African nature of the park and Kiki Curls can second that.
