TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY HEALTH CARE LEVY RENEWAL SIGNS HIT THE STREETS AND WEBSITE GOES LIVE!!!
Kansas City returns to the ballot on April 2nd in an election that's mostly going under the radar.
Question 1 is probably the most important issue that's not getting enough attention because mainstream media doesn't want people asking too many questions about one of the sloppiest ballot issues ever to go before local voters.
Quick review . . .
- The Municipal Revenue Commission suggested only 4 years for this renewal but the ballot effort asks for NINE.
- Most of the money is going to Truman Med Centers which is tantamount to a Kansas City takeover of the institution but with little increased oversight.
- The Health Care Levy is business as usual with ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN OR ROLL BACK CLAUSE IF OBAMACARE KICKS IN . . . If there is significant change in American Healthcare, THIS LEVY LOCKS IN KANSAS CITY to a really old school way of doing business with local hospitals, clinics and other facilities.
Those are just three quick concerns . . .
Here's the website where Kansas City Health Care Levy Supporters make their case . . .

Decide for yourself . . .
BUT REMEMBER THAT NOWHERE IN THIS DISCUSSION IS THERE A MENTION OF CONTROVERSIAL EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION FOR MEDICAL EXECS EARNING KANSAS CITY TAXPAYER SUPPORT!!!
Developing . . .
I was lied to about the use of the bus tax... that won't happen again... vote NO....

ReplyDeleteI think I have it right. He can't afford medical insurance, because his monthly payments on his $50K pickup are so high. So I need to pay for his health care and mine.
ReplyDeleteJohn Bluford makes $1.2Million a year as head of TMC...shame on voters for this!!
ReplyDeleteAnd lobbyist Girard Grimaldi makes $600,000....shame on voters!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGirard is a hated lobbyist as well. That laugh is absolutely annoying. Snort Snort Snort HA!
ReplyDeleteIf the signs are in the public right-away pull them out. That is against city ordinance. Vote NO.
ReplyDeleteGrimaldi is a fucking loser. He is a joke. My God what a waste of cash.
ReplyDeleteHow many poor people could receive care if they hired someone respectable at 1/6th the price?

ReplyDeleteThis is how I swing. Fuck you!
WORTH NOTING: UMKC School of Medicine provides huge financial support to Truman which, also, comes from tax dollars.
ReplyDeleteThe current tax doesn't expire for two more years.
ReplyDeleteThe impact of the new health care law is unknown but should alleviate the insurance problems for some of the indigent if not all.
Executive compensation is outrageous considering these are taxpayer supported nonprofits.
A big "no" on this one.
This was bad last time and it is now burdened with greed on the part of the administrators and with lies as they have "changed" their mind from the last time when they said that once was enough. If you are interested in fairness Vote NO .
ReplyDeleteI love Missouri political crap. Lets have an objective fair vote while our pundits brainwash the public with the skill of Dr. Frankenstein.
