Kansas City used streetcars long ago and right now the Public Library offers a peek at long ago glory days of an outdated form of transit that could be coming back to (a small stretch of) local streets at an exorbitant cost.

Currently, we're hopeful that a legal block to this insider effort to bring outdated tech back to Kansas City is successful in thwarting illegal "stacking" of taxes and so many other misdeeds.
KC had a fantastic streetcar system.

City couldn't wait to tear them out.
Then, within a couple years of yanking the tracks, the first whining about KC needing mass transit started.
old technology won't fix kc's long standing problems.
ReplyDeleteThe legal challenge is a sound one. Note that the judge did not throw it out as frivolous as some of OUR public servants at City Hall have stated.
