This was the biggest and best year yet for Waterfire Kansas City. The cold didn't cut down the crowd as much as I would have imagined.
Check a few images from the event . . . Unauthorized street performers were my fave.
As usual . . . The show was Quixotic focused.
We call this Kansas City Glow Sticks image . . . "Bucket of Light"
Again, the crowd on this cold-ass Kansas City night was impressive.
A slate of local and live performances seemed to be the focus of this evolving Kansas City event that's becoming a tradition which isn't just about fire on the water any longer.
The street performances were very much authorized and have been a part of this event for many years.
ReplyDeleteIt was cool!!! And I saw TKC!
ReplyDeleteWaterfire is for douchebags. Stupid. It's like putting candles in the floater in your stool and listening to NPR.
ReplyDeleteOMG it was like so New Age!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad asked me this morning how come all the sewer gas along there doesn't blow up when they light the floating fires.
ReplyDeleteTold him I have no idea maybe not enough had eaten at Freebirds that day.
I went last year blew off going this year due to cooler weather but it is a decent and different way to spend the evening doing something. Music in past was as well decent sure the same this year.
It was a great night, if a bit chilly. The music was better than ever, all live, no canned music. Eddie D. was particularly good in a boat on the water. Hope they do it every year.
ReplyDeleteI got a better idea. Dump 37 tons of dry ice in the creek and have a cover band play Smoke on the Water for 40 minutes.
ReplyDeleteHow'd Turd Crick smell this yar ?
