TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! AMERICAN WATER PULLS OUT OF KANSAS CITY THANKS TO THE COSTLY DECISIONS OF THE TAX AND SPEND MAYOR & COUNCIL!!!
Here's a decision that's going to be hitting every Kansas City resident in the pocketbook.
Hard.
Check it:
THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS TELL US THAT AMERICAN WATER HAS GIVEN UP THEIR MOVE TO PARTNER WITH KANSAS CITY!!!
This probably means that the cadre of consultants they've hired will no longer be trying to schedule meetings with the Council and The Mayor has decided that more taxes are the only way to fix Kansas City's old and busted sewer and water pipes.
Reality check . . .
THE AMERICAN WATER PROPOSAL WOULD HAVE PUT A GREATER PERCENTAGE OF MONEY INTO THE GROUND INSTEAD OF RAISING PRICES ON CONSUMERS AND RESIDENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF SWEETHEART MANAGEMENT DEALS CURRENTLY ON THE TABLE!!!
Kansas City's favorite engineering firm and their heavy influence on local politics through contributions and straight up cronyism played a big part in this move.
By and large the effort to privatize Kansas City's water dept. is kaput.
It's worth noting that Mayor Sly and the City Council made this decision without any input from the public or local neighborhood leaders regarding the rapidly increasing cost of water and sewer service in Kansas City.
TKC EXCLUSIVE FACT: Remember that after this sales tax Mayor Sly has another $700 million surprise request for Kansas City!!!
And in the end local politicos will have to keep coming back to local voters for more cash because nothing has really changed in terms of management of this town's old and busted pipes.
Now that this solution is off the table . . . KC Taxpayers are on the hook for more cash and water/sewer bills that contribute to the SKYROCKETING cost of living in Kansas City.
DEVELOPING . . .
So can we go back and play at Crown Center now?
ReplyDeleteBetter for citizens that American Water was sent packing.
ReplyDeleteBet there's another player in the wings.
ReplyDeleteHello Veolia!
Good riddance. I hope they took Riley & Moreno with them!!!
ReplyDelete11:34 nails it. American Water, with Cathy Nugent, Terry Riley and Chris Moreno, spelled bad news for KC citizens. And TKC is wrong about citizens not having input. Most savvy neighborhood leaders have voiced their concerns about American Water, so the mayor and council were aware of what a lot of the INFORMED public thought. Anytime Cathy Nugent is begging for meetings with mayor and council, and Riley is slithering around city hall, nothing good is on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteMoreno is not a consultant for American Water. You losers are obsessed racist idiots.
ReplyDeleteDON"T KNOW IF THE SALE IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT WHAT IS CONCERNING IS THE FACT THAT BURNS AND MCDONALD RUNS 1/5 OF OUR CITY GOVERNMENT. THE CITY CONSULTANT, DOWNEY, WORKS FOR BURNS AND MAC. RON CORKER, A BM EMPLOYEE, WORKS INSIDE THE DEPARTMENT HDQTS ON 63RD STREET. SCANDAL WAITNG FOR THE MEDIA TO EXPLORE AND EXPOSE.
ReplyDeleteBut can the tv stations get video? If not, then it's not a news story!
ReplyDeleteKansas City, MO disaster continues... what next?
ReplyDeleteall star riot.
ReplyDeleteat leasst riley isnt going to get his hands in the pot
ReplyDeleteQuit sucking Riley and Moreno to get your "tips" Tony.
ReplyDeleteI hope Pat Gray hammers Moreno in a pro union district for working for American Water (SCAB).

Who is dumb enough to accuse Chris Moreno of having a paying job?
ReplyDelete12:34 pm you are full of shit. Downey is retired from KCP&L. Ron Coker does not work at the water department. Downey does not work at Burns and Mac. Where do you get your information? You're about as informed as Chris Moreno.
ReplyDeleteMoreno is the new word for anything disgusting, fat or stupid.
ReplyDeleteShit. Now Riley will be hanging around waiting till he runs in 2015
ReplyDeleteIf what I heard about the deal American Water had on the table was true then the city was irresponsible in just ignoring it. I think they were protecting Jan's buddies at Burn's and Mac and maybe even afraid of the unions. The worst city employees are at Water, always have been from top to bottom. That's where they send you to rot. Water rates will skyrocket but they maintain the status quo in their world and don't care about the rest of us. My neighborhood has been impacted by the pending rate and tax hikes as evidenced by several new For Sale signs going up by owners who said they wanted to get out while the getting good.
