TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CITY HALL PROPOSES CONTROVERSIAL EASTSIDE CONDEMNATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY FOR KCPD EAST PATROL!!!

I've heard that neighbors and City Hall were in the midst of negotiations regarding the upcoming Kansas City East Patrol Development . . . Advocates for this neighborhood were making an effort to cooperate and come to a compromise that might spare the homes of longtime residents. Sadly, now the City Council is flexing their muscle.

CHECK OUT A CITY COUNCIL PROPOSAL TO CONDEMN EASTSIDE PRIVATE PROPERTY IN ORDER TO MAKE WAY FOR A NEW KCPD DEVELOPMENT!!! A GREAT MANY PEOPLE REGARD THIS MOVE AS A METAPHORICAL NEGOTIATION AT THE END OF A LOADED GUN!!!

More . . .

I DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EASTSIDE . . . THIS IS CITY HALL MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR AN OUTRIGHT LAND GRAB!!! IN SO MANY WORDS THIS SEEMS TO BE EMINENT DOMAIN AT ITS WORST!!!

Check an eminent domain primer (from the world's most accurate encyclopedia) for those who aren't familiar with the term.

Check ordinance #120282 for yourself . . .

"Authorizing condemnation, taking private property in fee simple for public use in the area bounded by Brooklyn and Prospect Avenues, and 26th and 27th Streets, all in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; providing for the payment of just compensation therefore; authorizing continued negotiations and purchase by the Capital Projects Department; authorizing the filing of the petition for condemnation by the City Attorney on behalf of the City; and directing the City Clerk to record this ordinance in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson County, Missouri."

Mayor Sly is on board with this and we've heard that Council Lady Melba Curls and Council Dude Jermaine Reed support the project as well . . .

NEVERTHELESS . . . THERE IS SOME VERY REAL AND STRONG COMMUNITY OPPOSITION TO THIS PROJECT AND THIS LAND GRAB TACTIC CERTAINLY WON'T INSPIRE MUCH COMMUNITY COOPERATION OR CONFIDENCE FROM RESIDENTS!!!

I know people don't like to think about this . . . But if a land grab can happen on the Eastside it can happen anywhere in Kansas City  . . . This strong arm tactic doesn't represent the kind of cooperation or "user-friendly" approach to local government that the City Council and the Mayor have been touting.

If fact, this land grab tactic in the midst of neighborhood negotiations seems to confirm the worst suspicious about local politicos who say one thing but do another.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. Sly doesn't seem to care much about the east side.

  2. Seem to remember something similar about 8-10 years ago near 71 high and Troost, where they basically sent a bunch of folks packing, bulldozed the area, then built 5-6 houses they tried to sell for $300K. and this long after, much of that area is still empty plots.

  3. The use of eminent domain will ensure those who have held out and refused to the initial offers for their properties will be paid several times what the properties are worth.

    ReplyDelete
  4. If only they would build the new East Patrol where the KCPD wanted to build it. But that's what you get when you've got council members trying to grease the palms of a certain pastor that owns the majority of that land to be acquired. Yeah let's give the corrupt city council control of the PD. That ought to work out really well.

  5. Have you even seen this land, Slander Boy? It's four empty blocks.

    Get your facts straight.

    1. I'm not sure if its the same one they are talking about...but I've heard that there is a minister who's church is inside that area. He also owns A LOT of the surrounding property. Maybe the same one?

  7. actually anon 4:05, when I look at Google Earth it's not empty at all - it's right in the middle of a residential neighborhood...with about 70 homes within the area...Perhaps you are thinking of another spot...

  8. Glad I moved3/29/12, 4:33 PM

KC doesn't care about private property rights. They're getting ready to raise property taxes through the roof. Now is a great time to leave KCMO if you can.

  9. It's Morningstar Baptist Church, Reverend John Miles is the church at 27/Wabash. He owns a large amount of the land and property nearby. He is a KCPD Chaplain as well.

  10. Don't worry, if you want to find Mayor Sly, find the next protest for a kid 1500 miles away who was shot. He seems really interested in Florida's business.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thank you, 4:33.

Now a little Sunshine request from a member of the media requesting the property ownership role for the condemned area (hint, hint).

DAVE HELLING, get your lazy ass out of that cushy office chair and GET TO WORK!

YAEL ABOUHALKAH, get your head outta Sly's lap...here's your chance to TAKE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OUT GRIFT.

C'mon pussies, show us what bite the Star has....

  13. 4:33, only one lot is owned by Morningstar Development Corporation.

It will take more digging or more info....

    ReplyDelete
  14. These home owners are being written off.

KC doesn't have an interest in protecting property rights. We only care about construction companies who make campaign donations.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh, here we go 4:33. Search in the county's recorded documents under "Morningstar" shows several properties owned by Morningstar Church and transferred to Morningstar Development Corp.

See how easy it is DAVE AND YAEL, you lazy fucks.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Now, a cross reference to the Misspuri Secretary of State's website shows that among the organizers o he not-for-profit Morningstar's Development Company are, TADA

John Modest Miles and Roy Anderson.

Coincidentally, they are also the ones who signed the Warranty Deeds transferring the property to MDC on behalf of Morningstar Baptist Church.

Now all that needs to be done is a cross reference of all the properties similarly transferred, pull up the IRS 990 filings, and write it up.

HEY YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES AT THE STAR, if a punk like me with a high school education can do this in less than 30 minutes WHY THE FUCK CAN'T YOU LAZY ASSES?

Jesus Christ, GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND WORK.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Let's see the 990 shows that from 2009 to 2010, the value of Morningstar's Development Company's land assets increased from $168,000 to $324,000.

Somebody went on a buying spree that year.

HEY FUCKING HELLING AND ABOUHALKAH, ARE YOU KEEPING UP WITH THIS STUPID HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATED PUNK?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Stupid High School Punk must make dinner for kids.

HELLING AND ABOUHALKAH, YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE IT FROM HERE.

  19. Had 10 minutes while the chicken cooked and used the toe to review property transfer records.

    Here's an ironic twist.

There are several parcels of property in the new East Patol develment area that the City will have to acquire from Morningstar's Development Company. MDC was eiher given the properties outright or bought them for a song ($100 for several parcels) from-you guessed it- THE CITY AND IT'S REDEVELOPMENT AGENCIES.

    Nice, eh?

  20. These people get more than their property is worth. I don't like it, but they are well-remunerated, including moving costs/labor.

  21. The folks at the Star are as afraid of the same extortionits and and intimidators as the folks hiding in their offices at 12th and Oak.
Have you ever seen Rev. Miles performances at Police Board meetings? It's quite a scene.

  23. How far the civil rights movement has come.

This country has moved from civil disobedience for the purpose of advancing fundamental human rights to civil disobedience for the purpose of extorting money, power and privilege for the mob's leaders.

And the fact that they invoke the names of the truly great leaders while hiding behind the church and the bible makes it that much more repugnant.

Enjoy your time now, grifters. Eternity is forever.

  24. Hey KC-MO how does it feel to be fucked again?

You all must like these fuckings you keep getting right and left?

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is a disaster of a location for a new station. Its so far from the center of the area in which it serves that it puts the citizens in that area at great risk by way way worse police response times. Now police responding to the eastern part of the precinct like the stadiums/blue ridge/ etc are coming from prospect....????? Wtf? Build it where the kcpd wanted it in the first place you morons!

    ReplyDelete
  26. If the real story about this East Patrol Police Station was told, I don't think many could handle the truth, irony or results. Kansas City, MO defecates on its property owners and with the same (funky) breath asks for property owners to take root in their dilapidated City. This project seals the fate on so many things common on the east side. The fact that a has-been pastor with a dwindling congregation can get the government to condemn property is outrageous. No self-respecting Christian should patronize that church. God have mercy on John Miles… he’ll need it on his destined quest into the kingdom of hell. I’ll be there with accelerant to help push him through the gates of hell…

  27. You'll have to run to run pretty fast to catch up with his black Escalade!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Modest Miles is a hose king. Why the City caters to him and his ilk is beyond me. Maybe with his new cash he can hire a chauffeur to drive his Escalade, or maybe move up to an expensive foreign make. His church is poor, but Modest Miles is rich!

    ReplyDelete
  29. 8:08,

Just an fyi the police don't sit at the station and wait for calls. Remember they have police cars they use to drive around their beat. Response times shouldn't be affected much if at all. Even if they built the new station at Red Bridge & 71 hwy, the officers would still be patrolling 35th & Prospect if they were assigned to that area. Actually, the future location of the station could result in quicker booking/arrest times with some officers not having to drive as far making them available to get back out into the field to answer calls sooner. Before you fly off the handle on me, know that I am completely against the means by which the city council acquired this land and whose wallet this land aqcuisition stands to benefit. I'm just saying that I don't think response times will be as affected as you seem to think.

  30. 8:45- Don't forget.

The land that Miles is selling to the City is land the City owned in the first place.

Miles persuaded the City to give him the land for a song.

THEN they condemned it to buy it back from him.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No matter how much crime there is, or how much property values decline, Modest Miles manages to make more bucks. Hmmmmm. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's a con game... Miles and evildoer Rosemary Lowe! Somebody ought to condemn her property and throw her old fat ass on the streets.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sly is a lawyer they do this kind of stuff so why did you vote for him.

    ReplyDelete
  34. For what it's worth, vox populi vox dei should be best exemplified by gathering the likes of property consultants, lawyers, and local residents to protest this uncanny development in that area. It worked for conveyancers in sydney before, it should work in the US too.
