“Public money should not be used to support private schools that are not accountable to the public,” Missouri School Boards’ Association spokesman Brent Ghan said.
ReplyDeleteWhat Mr. Ghan needs to understand and appreciate is that the "public money" he is referring to was once "private money", having been sourced from private citizens through taxes. And public schools are accountable to private individuals as to how well they use those resources and for effectively educating our children.
Public schools are no more entitled to that money than are private schools- especially when public schools are inefficient and wasteful in how they administer the funds they do receive and, more importantly, fail to educate children.
