TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, TKC TIPSTERS HOLD OFF JAN MARCASON AND CVA RAID OF KANSAS CITY'S NTDF FUNDS!!!

Here is what was fun about yesterday's pivotal Neighborhoods & Healthy Communities Committee meeting . . .

Council Lady Jan and all of the folks who wanted to raid NTDF funds claimed there was a "miscommunication" about what they really wanted to do . . . It's a nice rhetorical strategy given that there was a very real disagreement. In fact, the two sides of this debate are so far apart that there's difference of opinion regarding what the name of the fund is supposed to mean.

Still . . . Here's something that's worth noting . . .

AT LEAST FOR ONE WEEK, ALL OF THE WHITE DUDES FROM THE CONVENTION AND VISITORS ASSOCIATION STAYED LOSING BECAUSE TAKING MORE MONEY AWAY FROM NEIGHBORHOODS IN A POWER GRAB JUST DIDN'T PLAY WELL IN FRONT OF THIS COMMITTEE!!!

Brief aside: It really is time for the CVA to think about a bit more diversity within their ranks.

Anyhoo . . .

Council Dude Jermaine Reed deserves a lot of credit for stepping up for his constituents on this one.

Council Lady Melba Curls also managed the meeting rather effectively.

From the looks of the sizable crowd of neighborhood leaders it was also clear that Councilman John Sharp was busy rallying support against this move from his many contacts.

On the losing side . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNCIL LADY JAN MARCASON TOOK A MAJOR HIT TO HER REPUTATION AS A NEIGHBORHOOD LEADER WITH THE FAILED POWER PLAY!!!

They might still lover her in Brookside but this episode could cost her a great many warm fuzzies that might take many free dishes of potato salad in order to earn back.

Still, for the moment it was nice to see neighborhood leaders slow down the rush to grab more money by this town's tourism racket.

DEVELOPING . . .

Brookside will not put up with Jan if she is associated with insider corruption like this. Even though a lot of people who live and play there benefit from insider deals, they like to uphold the "good government" cloak.

  4. Jan's reputation as a "neighborhood leaders"?
    LOL
Jan's idea of a neighborhood are the swells who live and work on the Plaza!
