TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! THE FIGHT OVER NTDF MONEY ISN'T OVER!!! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS UPCOMING SHOWDOWN!!!
AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS and READERS made a HUGE DIFFERENCE this week as the Convention and Visitors Association attempted to loot cash from The Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund.
The ordinance (#120112) was held . . . Even better, The CVA was called out and there might be a chance that a straight up money grab could include more transparency and safeguards instead of becoming just another City Hall slush fund.
However . . .
THE FIGHT OVER KANSAS CITY'S NTDF FUNDS IS STILL ON AND THERE'S AN UPCOMING SHOWDOWN ON THE SUBJECT THIS WEEK!!!
HERE'S THE MEETING NOTICE WHERE BOTH SIDES MIGHT SHOW UP TO BATTLE OVER SCARCE NEIGHBORHOOD MONEY!!!
Councilmembers Jan Marcason, Scott Wagner, Cindy Circo and Melba Curls invite you to meet regarding pending ordinance #120112 (attached) having to do with clarifying NTDF rules and processes.
Thursday, February 16, 1pm
Gregg/Klice Community Center, 1600 Buck O’Neil Way

One of these days The Star might report the news . . . So far KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS have told us this:
TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, TKC TIPSTERS HOLD OFF JAN MARCASON AND CVA RAID OF KANSAS CITY'S NTDF FUNDS!!!
TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! ATTEMPTING TO EXPLAIN TODAY'S CITY HALL NEIGHBORHOOD TOURIST DEVELOPMENT FUND CONTROVERSY!!!
TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! "SEWER" JAN LEADS A KANSAS CITY COUNCIL RAID ON NEIGHBORHOOD TOURIST DEVELOPMENT FUNDS!!!
DEVELOPING . . .
The NTDF money has been a ridiculous slush fund for years and has nothing at all to do with tourism.
ReplyDelete$25,000 hot dog picnics, anyone?
Just another example of what happens when a government has no strategy or priorities.
Every day becomes raid the cookie jar day.
Keep those e-tax dollars coming, please.
Yes, it would better to spend that money on Bill George.
ReplyDeletejealous
ReplyDeleteI wonder just how many neighborhood leaders can make a 1 pm weekday meeting?
ReplyDeleteAnd how many CVA officials will be able to make that meeting?
All egos, prsonalities, insiders, grifters, and the usual suspects.
ReplyDeleteAnd not a public policy, plan, or serious strategy anywhere in sight.
Welcome to KCMO government.
Jan is rubbing the scent of corruption all over herself.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the way to qualify for GILF status sweetheart.
Bill George and that troll Rick Hughes are the stink in this mess. Why Jan is letting the stench of those two corrupt clowns cling to her is a mystery. Jan is spending WAY too much political capital on this. The NTDF fund has been running pretty well especially since Cleaver's sticky fingers have been kept away. Now short-man Rick Hughes wants 30% of the fund with zero oversight from anyone. It's pandering to the CVA. Let the NTDF committee do their job. No special cut to the inept CVA.
ReplyDeleteThe CVA is basically a promotional arm of the Downtown Council and Cordish. The last time I was down for a CVA open house I noticed all the CVA leadership couldn't seem to get their mouths off Bill Dietrich's dick for five minutes to mingle with anyone else.
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing more than a money grab for downtown promotions. Forget everything south of Crown Center.
The KC CVA is notorious in the meeting planning and hospitality sectors for being useless and full of hacks. They do nothing but wait for the next cocktail-oriented event and mainly stand around talking to each other when they get there.
