TAKE A LOOK @ THE LATEST KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL LESSON IN FAIL!!! NEW KCPS SUPERINTENDENT MIGHT KEEP RESIDENCE IN BASEHOR, KANSAS!!!

DeAnn Smith over @ KCTV uncovers an unacceptable bit of Kansas City Public School outsourcing . . .

"The Kansas City School Board is poised to extend interim Superintendent Stephen Green's contract, sources tell KCTV5. The board also has reached a consensus to allow Green to continue to live in Kansas. Previous superintendents have been required to live in the Kansas City School District."

At this point I'm pretty sure everybody @ The KCPS is pretty much phoning it in and waiting to be taken over . . .

Because I'm a bit of an environmentalist, I'm hoping he might be able to just work from home.

I can't think of any better sign that Kansas City has completely given up on the KCPS than this bit of info . . .

Consider . . .

THE NEW LEADER OF KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS WON'T EVEN BE PAYING PROPERTY TAXES TO HIS SCHOOL DISTRICT!!!

Again, because people don't vote in this town unless their job is on the line, this long local nightmare continues . . . And the only real hope and realistic hope seems to be the Missouri GOP breaking apart the district . . . That's right. Things are so bad at local schools that Republican ideas now seem reasonable.

DEVELOPING . . .

  2. Who cares where he lives, as long as he is doing a good job--which he is-- at the moment.

  3. Well that was embarrassing.

  5. There's quite a bit more to the story, of course.

  6. Typical irresponsible board. They need to be replaced.

  7. The obsolete notion that employees should live in the jurisdiction they serve in is just another one of the old anchors that are dragging KCMO, and in the case, the KCPS, down.
Given the same logic, all the President's staff would have to live in the DC District and you'd have even more trouble finding competent people to serve.
As the KCPS has continued to fail and vioence has emptied out the east side, there are not only far fewer children enrolled, but there is a greatly decreased population and hardly anyone wants to serve on the school board, as was just demonstrated by the fact that only two people filed to run, and against each other.
Stop woryying about where someone lives and try to find the best employees you can, especially at the executive level.

  8. You need to tell that to the City Council and the Mayor.

  9. This is what happens when you have zero leverage. People can hold you over a barrel. Who would want this awful job? For now, if the guy is doing a good job they should leave it be. Talk about having bigger fish to fry than where he lives.

  10. Hopefully gets to live where he wants. Won't that help all of the other city employees with a lawsuit against the city to lift the archaic rule?

  11. Sounds like Raytown. No city heads live in Raytown. How can you do your best for a city when you won't even live there?

  12. Once again people are all in hissy-fit about something that has nothing to do with education. I wouldn't care if the guy was living in another country, if he was doing a good job. This issue is petty. I am glad they got someone at least somewhat familiar with the city instead of these fly-by-night people they keep hiring.
