So . . . Until the rent is due for this month . . . The fate of Jardine's is still in flux.

Reports of buyers who keep Beena in the mix are being called into question . . .

My real concern . . .

THERE IS A LOT OF REPORTING ON THIS TOPIC FOR A PLACE THAT SEATS LESS THAN 100 PEOPLE!!!

Still . . . I guess it's a testament to how much people care about Jazz in Kansas City . . . Or at least say they do . . .

ANYHOO . . .

An online chat with a prominent local Jazz dude elicited this money quote:

"Nobody is going there while Beena still runs the place. And very few people believe that she's going to give up control voluntarily or without some kind of buyout. The bottom line is: If she's there, most KC Jazz performers won't be."

Tough talk . . . But a cursory chat with a few local jazz people reveals this sentiment may be a popular one and yet another sour note in local Jazz History.

Personally, TKC likes Beena and hopes the whole hot mess can come to some kind of reasonable conclusion.
