This is an EXCLUSIVE look at Jardine's from just a few hours ago . . . The tragic sign is the only communication from the club regarding recent social media chatter about their closing . . . It simply reads: "Closed For Repairs."
The place is going dark this weekend, one local performer says they've been closed for 3 nights.
Accordingly, there was a big Friday show scheduled and here's a statement from a performer who was slated to play . . .
"The owner of the club fired her entire staff yesterday and subsequently there would be no one there to work the show. My apologies to those of you who were planning on attending."
Credit to MO Rage who did some reporting on this earlier in the week . . . Heading down to the scene to check out the sitch was kind of disheartening because the joint is/was truly one of Kansas City's premiere Jazz destinations.
DEVELOPING . . .
And yet there are those that tell us the economy is recovering. Yeah, sure!
ReplyDeleteSad loss for local music. Hope she can pull it together.
ReplyDeleteSee how fast everyone has forgotten about Harman's death? Gotta love the ADD that the internet fosters.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened? Did Hearne Christopher stop drinking?
ReplyDeleteSo you don't take the sign at face value?
ReplyDeleteSurely they will reopen as soon as the repairs are completed.
what repairs?
ReplyDelete4:34. You mean Harman's suicide? Who the fuck cares?
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck would we mention Don Harman in regards to a Jardine's story.
ReplyDeleteSo many fucking idiots in the neioghborhood.
Is anyone paying Pat O'Neill to fix these issues?
ReplyDeleteThat is how we handle trouble in this town.
Pay Pat.
The Internet may put us all in the poor house. Why go to Jardines when you stay home and watch YouTube.
ReplyDeleteI can see that cat in the window.
ReplyDeleteThe tie in is that Hearne was screwing the chick who owns Jardine's and he is also trying to trash the memory of Don Harman with completely wrong stories about him.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to say anything but I heard Jardine's went broke on all the free appetizers they were giving Tony.
ReplyDeleteAnother business bites the dust.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha!!!! and you STILL think this isn't a shithole cowtown?????
ReplyDeletelol @ 8:05!
ReplyDeletekansas city the new detroit. no busniess, no schools, no jobs. just retards shooting each other.
ReplyDeletethe sound of kc is gone.
ReplyDeleteNo big loss.
ReplyDeleteI found out I was fired via TKC because my boss doesn't respond to calls, text or emails. I DO suppose though that if a business is going broke while also firing everyone and not giving out backpay the business will have all the time in the world to grieve binge.
ReplyDeleteThere are about 11 jazz fans in Kansas City, and seven of them are the spouses or girlfriends of guys playing in jazz bands.
ReplyDeleteJazz and Blues listeners are old. They do not go out anymore. They buy their Boise system and pretend to be OH- Original Hipsters.
ReplyDeleteWe get crappy faux Blues (Read- Chuck Haddix listeners. Which is weird since his group of geriatrics ARE home, so why does he play such awful stuff?) and Jazz to try to attract the ADHD crowd. So it goes.
NONE OF YOU GET IT!!!
ReplyDeleteNot the economy.
Not the aging Demographic.
Not Don Harmon or Pat O'Neil.
Beena -- the supposed owner -- is a crook. Simple as that. The whole thing was a ponzi scheme with her investors to start with. She hosed her ex-husband. She fucked suppliers.
Once a junkie and a whore, always a junkie and a whore...right Beena?
Jardine's "might" re-open Dec 14. I was supposed to play there late Friday when I got the news from that his gig fell through. I hope I still have a new years gig there!
