Despite tons of federal aid and an overwhelming outpouring of donations . . .
MISSOURI POLITICOS NOW RELY ON JOPLIN AS THE LATEST EXCUSE TO JUSTIFY INCREASING AUSTERITY!!!
It seems that one of the ways we avoided a special session (so far) and more budget fighting is because politicos so effectively employed the Joplin disaster behind the scenes rather quickly in order to save cash in COMPLETELY UNRELATED areas . . .
For instance . . .
There was cash put aside to keep The Kansas City Film Commission afloat . . . "The Joplin Excuse" took that money out of play . . .
Statewide Higher Education Cuts were drastic. However, behind the scenes, The Joplin Tornado disaster was invoked as a way to avoid tough questions about the priorities of Missouri politicos.
The thing is . . .
Missouri elected officials are powerless to prevent the Insurance Company Nightmare and home valuation disaster that awaits Joplin . . . Sadly, these facts haven't kept them from cutting so many other important items with only a one word explanation.

People will always use disasters to promote whatever preconceived notions they have.
I say seize all of the wealth of the rich and then send them to reeducation camps in the desert!
