TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! POLITICOS PREPARE FOR MISSOURI HOUSE REDISTRICTING COMPLAINTS FROM KANSAS CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY!!!
We'll keep this quick because it's still developing and maybe not as important as the latest bikini model contest at King Magazine.
Nevertheless . . .
TKC TIPSTERS are telling us that there's a great deal of concern over the Missouri Redistricting at the house level.
Long story short . . .
A GREAT MANY LEADERS IN KANSAS CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY SEE THE POTENTIAL THAT AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEADERS COULD LOSE ALL BUT ONE HOUSE SEAT!!!
The arguement: Of course the population guidelines that redistricting chicken geniuses are following attempt to keep districts that are currently more than 60% African-American with similar levels of African-American population in the plan. . . . But there hasn't been much consideration of FREQUENT VOTERS!!! And even the basic geography of the plan falls apart under close scrutiny.
On the other hand . . . There is a widely documented trend that suggests Kansas City's African-American Community is moving FURTHER EAST and out of "traditional" voting strongholds . . . Attribute this to economics, crime or just the natural progression of things.
In any event . . . THERE IS A STRONG PERCEPTION OF GERRYMANDERING AND THIS PROBLEM HASN'T REALLY BEEN CONFRONTED IN ANY REAL WAY AT THE HOUSE LEVEL!!! WE MAY SEE SOME MORE ACTION ON THIS TOPIC AS THE COMPLICATED PROCESS STARTS TO UNFOLD!!!
And here's how it will play out according to ONE OF THE VERY SMART PEOPLE WHO READ TKC!!! CHECK IT:
"The House map is left entirely to the House Redistricting Commission’s 18 members. 9 from each party, check the list for yourself. If 13 of them cannot agree on a new map by August 18, a panel of six Missouri appellate court judges will draw the new lines. None of the reps will have any say over how the new state legislative maps will look."
To wit . . . It looks like public pressure on this front is starting to take hold given that it looks like redistricting could take out most of Kansas City's minority representation at the State House Level.
Developing . . .
Gosh, the black community already has such luminaries as Jonas Hughes. Is there any moe room for such greatness in Jeff City?
ReplyDeleteHint: If you had fewer homicides east of Troost and fewer people moved out of the neighborhoods, you'd have enough of a population to earn more proportional representation. If you're hoping for more votes due to victimization, entitlement, and whining, I'm afraid that's not how the system works.
Maybe Freedom Inc will come up with some ideas, but only if you pay them enough!
The minority population is not urban anymore not there fault.
ReplyDeleteIf the new map is so racist, then why did both Representative Cleaver and Representative Clay support it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonas and EEEECleav2
ReplyDeleteI did that chick in the middle last Thursday. My nads are still sore.
ReplyDeleteYES.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally think black chicks are hot, but damn, all three are smoking.
ReplyDeleteGOP loves to pit blacks vs. white democrat establishment. Watch for Jean baker's seat to get cut up to help the blacks keep 3 seats. She is gone so no real incumbent to betray.
ReplyDelete"COMPLAINTS FROM KANSAS CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY" <--- If a larger group of "African Americans" in this community had more tax revenue to offer instead of draining state resources maybe they would have a valid complaint. Until then, please shut your mouths and get a job. That coco puff on the left looks mighty tasty.
ReplyDeleteYep, black leaders have done so much over the last decade. I long for the days of actual black leaders with morals and a will to get things done.
