It seems that the KCI DUI CHECKPOINT CRACKDOWN as in full effect last night:
Kansas City Missouri police made 17 DUI arrests Friday night during a five-hour sobriety checkpoint at 29th Street and 71 Highway.
For better or worse, I'm never really upset by this kind of crackdown because I rarely leave my (mom's) basement AND I'm not afraid to hoof it home given that I really need a haircut and I'm starting to scare homeless people.
Nevertheless . . . At least a few of you have written in this morning and noted that NOBODY was in a good mood at last night's checkpoint. In an attempt to be objective . . . I can only hope a link to doing her laundry and Penny Mathissmiling in her underwear will improve the mood of drunks, cops and advocates of civil liberties.
As far as other links are concerned . . . Here's what's floating around Saturday afternoon . . .
- Local weekend tragedy: Three People Killed in Rollover Accident in Kansas City
- A successful Golden Parachute negotiation: Former Westar Exec Lake To Receive $21 Million
- The only thing cool about this year's fest with a horrible line-up: Rock Fans Brave Cool Weather for Rockfest
- Show-Me younger shooters: Mo. Bill Lowers Concealed Gun Permit Age
- KCI photo still making waves: Do TSA pat downs go too far?
- Show-Me another messy conclusion to the End of Session.
- A nice note to end this link compilation: "The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City says the farm boom is continuing this year as high crop prices and improved livestock prices combine to drive farm income higher."
THANKS HOMBRE!!!
ReplyDeleteadvocates of civil liberties Nails it for me. How long till, it's: "papers please"? The TSA, Arizona's mis-guided immigration law, kobach.....This drunk thing is just to get people used to being stopped, without cause.
ReplyDeleteKansas City police are investigating two shootings that occurred within minutes of each other in separate locations early Sunday.----------
ReplyDeleteWaking up in Kansas City to shootings. My grandparents use to wake up to birds singing. Times have changed.
It's not all the police dep fault on crime. If Jackson co would punish people and lock up these repeat offenders it would be safer . You don't see repeat offenders in platte co clay co or cass co. Lock these shit bags up and u will see a drop in crime. Jackson co is a joke
