I will need valet parking in a secured lot and complimentary bullet proof vests isn't a bad gimmick either. I hope I'm am just joking. I really do think this is a prime location and much needed shot in the arm of the 6th district but damn, that's too much money and begs the question to be asked if the private sector isn't a believer, are we making a bad investment?
ReplyDeleteThese are the same fucks that conned the city of Prairie Village for 22 million to remodel the PV shops and Corinth Square. 1% tax on those 2 shops for 22 years, both centers are busy, with all the space rented and both are within 5 miles of Mission Hills and Leawood.

ReplyDeleteI'm curious - are they going to shutter the existing campus in the area or renege on the deal they struck with KCK to bring jobs to the Legends in exchange for helping them to build a playground for their craptastic soccer team?
Since there's going to be at least $190 milion dollars of the taxpayers' money in this fiasco, at least we should have a VERY BIG SIGN put up on the property with all of the names of the elected officials who voted for this boondoggle. That way, the sign can gradually fade and deteriorate just like this property as all the money disappears into thin air.
