First of all . . . Sophie Reade enjoying tea time gets the lead in this post because I'll be damned if I put Jeff Grisamore's dopey mug on my blog . . . Nevertheless, I thought Hell had frozen over in this part of the nation when I read that THE TEA PARTY IS COMING TO JACKSON COUNTY!!!
And then I remembered that lame and mostly meaningless political gestures just represent another aspect of the status quo around here . . . Check the presser:
Jackson County MO Tea Party County Convention
The Hon. Jeff Grisamore, MO State Representative (R-Jackson Co.) will address the first ever session of the Jackson County MO Tea Party County Convention, Saturday, April 16, 2011, 1pm till 5pm. The meeting will be held in the Meeting Room, Trails West Public Library 23rd Street and Vermont Street (between Chrysler and Sterling). Convening this Tea Party County Convention is Reed A. Chambers II, Chairman, Tea Party MO State Conference and former Republican nominee for MO State Senator (1988 and 1992) and also Jackson County Executive. (1998), who is currently a member of the Jackson County Board of Equalization, representing the City of Grain Valley, MO. In 2007, Chambers was the author of Missouri Senate Bill 47, the "Volunteer Firefighter Job Protection Act" which was enacted into law and is now a part of Chapter 320, RSMo.
After State Representative Jeff Grisamore speaks, the Jackson County MO Tea Party County Convention will entertain grassroots suggestions from the floor, as attendees bring forward their suggestions for the Tea Party's "Most Wanted" Missouri State Laws.
Attendance is open to the general public, as the Tea Party is not coordinated by any political party or candidate's campaign committee. In 2010, the MO Tea Party Political Activists was incorporated in Missouri as a Sec. 527 Political Organization authorized to endorse candidates and to make independent non-coordinated expenditures for or against candidates for public office. The Hon. Gary Dusenberg of Blue Springs, a former Missouri State Representative from Blue Springs, serves as Treasurer of the MO Tea Party Political Activists, which refers to itself as the "political arm of the Tea Party" to distinguish it from the "Social Welfare arm of the Tea Party" which as a Sec, 591(c)(4) organization, cannot endorse political candidates, cannot accept contributions for political purposes, and cannot make direct political expenditures on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office .
The MO Tea Party Political Activists convenes periodic grassroots sessions of Missouri Tea Party County Conventions and also periodic sessions of the Missouri Congressional District Caucuses, in order to submit ideas to the Tea Party MO State Conference, which thereupon narrows the grassroots ideas to be the MO Tea Party's "Ten Most Wanted State Laws" and also the MO Tea Party's "Ten Most Wanted Federal Laws."
During sessions of the 8 Tea Party Congressional District Caucuses in Missouri, a member of the Tea Party will be elected, as will two members of the Tea Party from the Tea Party MO State Conference, as members of the Tea Party Electoral College, which group will convene in Iowa shortly before the Feb 6, 2012 "first in the nation" Presidential Caucuses. The Tea Party Electoral College will hear presentations from the several presidential candidates seeking support in Iowa, and will then select which of the several candidates is its endorsed candidate for President of the United States. It is perceived that obtaining that official Tea Party Electoral College Presidential endorsement will propel that candidate successfully through the Iowa caucuses and in the following month's New Hampshire Presidential Primary election.

ReplyDeleteKeynote speaker Steve Bough
ReplyDelete"Republicans approve of the American farmer, but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home--but not for housing. They are strong for labor--but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights. They favor minimum wage--the smaller the minimum wage the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all--but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them. They consider electrical power a great blessing--but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They think American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it."
ReplyDelete— Harry S. Truman
He didn't contribute to them, he called them to the carpet! Steve Bough should step down!!!
08:55 contains large amounts of comedy.
ReplyDeleteToday's Democrats want very cheap food, so they don't want farmers to make any money.
ReplyDeleteThey also don't like the fact that farmers use a lot of chemicals and energy.
They certainly don't want ethanol production to be successful, thus thwarting another avenue for farmers to earn money.
A lot of the leftists are militant against eating meat.
I'm not sure what Harry would think today.
Harry's comment couldn't be more in touch with today's economy. Harry Truman was a diehard Democrat. He would be dragging Republicans out of the legislature and congress and whipping their ass. That's what Harry would he thinking and doing today.
ReplyDeleteHarry wouldn't do shit without the approval of the mob bosses that got him into office.
ReplyDeleteI want to join the Toga Party............
