TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA WEST EDGE FAIL COMPLETE: THE CRANES COME DOWN!!!
Witness the first and rather ominous look at The West Edge now without the construction cranes.
We've been discussing, speculating and talking about this disaster for years now and FINALLY . . . It's clear this boondoggle has gone bust.
Along the way we noted KCTV5 mentioned this sign of impending doom first among the mainstream newsies in a separate article and signaled to a huge audience that the cranes would soon be carted away . . . But it's something most people expected after J.E. Dunn fled from the impending disaster.
It has been "a little bit" since the cranes went bye-bye but nobody has really put the event in the proper perspective . . .
TKC HAS TALKED TO A FEW CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT PEOPLE AND A LOT OF THEM BELIEVE THIS MOVE COULD SIGNAL IMPLOSION FOR THE STRUCTURE!!!
As always, whenever developers are involved there's going to be a lot of speculation and lies.
However, what we know for sure is that the place used to house some low rent apartments and a great community of people who lived, worked and spent their money in Midtown . . . Irresponsible speculators believed schemes to honor themselves were more important than looking out for a local neighborhood and now the place serves as a monument to the hubris of Kansas City big money interests before The Great Recession really took hold.
Developing . . .
Glad you used the photo I sent Tony. YOU'RE WELCOME!
ReplyDelete;)
LOL More E-Tax dollars wasted.
ReplyDeleteGot to love Kansas City Taxpayers you can pour their money down the drain as they sit and do nothing.
Tear the building down and then build a brand new office tower for Polsinelli on the site at taxpayer expense.
ReplyDeleteAnd just for good measure, be sure to abate the firm's e-tax to keep them in KCMO!
After what was done to them on the non-TIF project that would generate all kinds of taxes (thanks to the 'save our view' group), I wouldn't blame them if they capitalized on a TIF.
ReplyDeleteOh man what a wwaste of money.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS BB! your legend (ego) looms large over the loss of a neighborhood
ReplyDelete"TKC HAS TALKED TO A FEW CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT PEOPLE"
ReplyDeleteOh really and who may they be and why the mystery?
Yeah, Dunn "fled the impending disaster", in the same way as an arsonist runs away from the burning warehouse.
ReplyDeleteBut rec center
ReplyDeleteImpending disaster OR the cranes aren't needed for this part of the development and they are saving money . . .
ReplyDeleteWhere is the nuclear cloud, Tony!?!?
developing indeed. the cranes came down in JANUARY!
ReplyDeleteBob Bernstein's ego started this mess. The neighborhood should file a class action suit against him.
ReplyDeleteCan the Tea Party do something about all of this wasted taxpayer money?
ReplyDeleteMake some clever signage, get a good chant going perhaps?
Bob Bernstein = first class Kansas City ASSHOLE!!!
ReplyDeleteKansas City Taxpayers are suckers.
ReplyDeleteDear 10:06:
ReplyDeleteTo date, not a penny of TIF or other taxpayer money has been spent.
Or E-tax, for you E-tax fanatics.
10:00 AM
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea. Has to be something in this shitty deal thats enforceable in court and would reuqire restitution.
10:48 your wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing would have happened if we'd started LIGHT RAIL... the short line to nowhere!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. This is so much more attractive than the charming apartment buildings that were declared blighted and torn down to make room for this monstrosity. Where were the "Save Our Plaza" nutcases then?
ReplyDeleteLet's see, "breaking news" is something that happened 3 months ago? Way to go, Tony!
ReplyDeleteI was forced out of my apartment for this failure it COST me money to move. I left and moved over to Kansas. Kansas City is the Worst run city int the USA.
ReplyDeleteThey could just let those Negresses that tore up the Panama City Beach Burger King hang out there for a while.
ReplyDeleteDey teh it up!!
Dey teh it up!!!
turn it into a homeless shelter.
ReplyDeleteThis just happened a couple of weeks ago. They reported about it in January but they just took them down. I know because I worked on the site. Good job reporting TKC. You would have had it sooner if you would have read my anonymous e-mail.
ReplyDeleteMaybe 3:06, you should have sensationalized your email with bullshit and false info. Maybe that helps it get posted?
ReplyDeleteWhat is sad is the man kansas city elected as their city councilman voted on this project THREE TIMES. Jim Glover.
ReplyDelete11:21: YOU'RE, as in "you are." If you're going to shit on someone's post, at least do it like you're not a fifth-grader.
ReplyDelete12:48: eat my shit.
