No good deed goes unpunished and I've long believed that the vast majority of civic activism in Kansas City, Missouri ends up in heartache.
To wit, here's a recent message sent my way that provides some explanation of the Youtube clip that illustrates the beginning of this post.
Jeff and Jessica's chickens have been confiscated because they reported their neighbors pit bulls. The whole situation is on youtube.
The drama has unfolded over the past few weeks and it started innocently enough . . .
Jeff starts with a complaint about violent dogs in his neighborhood.
Then there's a follow-up call where The City says it can't deal with this problem . . . as well.
Then it starts to get a little tense with Jessica telling an animal control dude to "get the fuck off her property" at minute 4:33 of yet another clip.
AND ALL OF THIS LEADS US TO A KANSAS CITY MAN DEPRIVED OF HIS CHICKENS BECAUSE HE CALLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT VIOLENT DOGS IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD!!!
If it makes any difference (probably not) the dude was/is an ardent supporter of Sly James . . . Sadly, what's clear from all of these clips is that there is a very real disconnect between Kansas City residents and their government. That's a situation that might soon be coming home to roost . . . Or maybe just moving to Kansas.
Crazy Rachel Townsend, our neighbor in Brookside wants to be prosecutor, kept a chicken in her house and yard. It was loud as hell and shit all over her kitchen and everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThis guy sounds like a dick.
ReplyDeleteRachel is addicted to Farmville. No Lie.
ReplyDeleteIs that why she was suspended as Lee's Summit Prosecutor? Spending office time on Farmville?
Talk about an epic fail. KCMO animal control rounds up dangerous chickens while leaving behind harmless, loving pit bulls.
ReplyDeleteAhh, KC. What a great place to live.
sorry but the man has a right to this property and he should called the cops to have them arrested for trespassing.
ReplyDeleteAs a Kansan, I'm just glad I can contribute my E tax to help perpetuate this livable city.
ReplyDeleteAnother etax cry baby. Unless you worked in KCMO prior to the etax being approved back in the 70's, STFU!!!
ReplyDeleteThe chickens belong to white people and the pit bulls belong to niggers. Guess who wins in KC....The fucking niggers in their urban jungles.....Kansas City just continues to suck and suck and suck....
ReplyDeleteI think city ordinances prohibit the raising chickens, pigs, cattle, etc. within the city limits. So if the city comes and takes your illegal poultry or livestock, WTF do you have to complain about?
ReplyDeleteI shutter to think of all the poor peopled mauled by marauding chickens roaming within a home owners fenced in yard. Man! Its a good thing the nearby neighbors have a few vicious pit bulls to protect everyone and keep the neighborhood safe.
ReplyDelete@8:54 am-there are no ordinances prohibiting raising chickens within the city limits. Only restrictions on the space required to do so-these people met the requirements.
ReplyDeleteAlso, KCMO animal control is not allowed to respond to citizen complaints regarding dangerous dogs. Citizens must dial 911 to report dangerous dogs in order to have animal control investigate.
. Grow the fuck up people. If you want chickens, move to a farm. And BTW, there is nothing inherently dangerous about "pit bulls." To outlaw a single breed completely ignores the fact that any dog can be aggressive if not trained and cared for. The breed is irrelevant. To focus on that shows complete ignorance of reality. But hey, that's why TKC exists.
ReplyDeleteSomebody should have shot or poisoned those fucking dogs, and never said a word.
ReplyDelete@9:19 AM-the pit bull reference is sarcasm. Dangerous dogs/animals are a direct result of negligent owners.
ReplyDelete9:19-if you want an animal capable of ripping your face off then you should move to a farm.
ReplyDeleteUrban Agriculturalists vs. Pit Bull Apologists.
ReplyDeleteThis should be good!
9:40, don't be such a pussy. I hope you walk to work and always wear a helmet when riding your bike if the world is too scary for you. It's spider season. Do you have an adult that can take your places?
ReplyDelete9:50 AM-The pussies would be the people bitching about chickens. I have a black lab-very gentle, very playful and a very nice dog to have. And if my neighbors should want chickens, I don't give a good God damn!
ReplyDelete9:54, reading comprehension is obviously not part of the special ed curriculum. I never mentioned the chickens, only the silly affair all of it. I'm glad you have a dog. People with disabilities find them very reassuring.
ReplyDelete@9:58 AM-then you must have a complete menagerie of disability assistance animals.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, young black men as neighbors... that rarely works out well I've noticed.
ReplyDeleteI've never met a pit bull owner that wasn't an absolute piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good warning sign to me to have absolutely nothing to do with that person. Crocs shoes also serve that purpose.
This story is both weird and frustrating. Why can't City Workers use better social skills?
ReplyDeleteA lack of social skills is why they are city workers.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly skimming off the cream of humanity in that labor pool.
That white guy is definitely not celebrating the delightful urban diversity of his neighborhood these days.
ReplyDeleteWow, using city and worker in the same sentence. There's a real oxymoron for you.
ReplyDeleteA lack of social skills is what got the chicken owner into this mess.
ReplyDeleteHere's a guy trying to do something productive by providing a source of healthy, affordable food for his family. You can see several raised garden beds in his yard as well. There are few acts more noble than taking responsibility for one's own health and preparing for tougher times as food prices begin to creep up.
ReplyDeleteEnter stage left the American black male: hip hop raised, chip on his shoulder, childish, impulsive and yep, pretty violent by statistical analysis.
Tell me that I'm wrong.
@10:56 AM-maybe the chicken owner lacks social skills, maybe not. The animal control officers are definitely afraid of confronting the dog owners as opposed to the chicken owners.
ReplyDeleteA nice little microcosm nugget of life in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteWhite folks create, black people destroy. LOLZ.
His problem is he was ATTACKED by pitbulls, NOT that he doesn't like the breed or objects to his neighbors owning one. He could have been attacked by a golden retriever and still have a valid point.
ReplyDeleteUhm, people. the pitbull owning neighbor lady is White.
ReplyDelete11:34 AM-its always best to ignore the race baiters as thier opinions only matter to each other.
ReplyDeleteOK maybe we're wrong this time, but I'll just bet that next time it's a black guy, haha!
ReplyDeleteThe pit bull owners want the chickens gone because they make their dogs bark and it disrupts their TV time. End of story.
ReplyDeleteTypical city slickers.
ReplyDelete11:00- Have you seen the videos this guy posted?
ReplyDeleteThey don't leave any question that he lacks social skills.
Hahaha God Bless America. That is, they only complain when their electricity is turned on:P
ReplyDeleteTHIS MAN SHOULD MOVE TO PORTLAND, OREGON. WE EMBRACE CHICKENS AND ORGANIC FOOD HERE.
ReplyDeleteWhat does this cat mean that he was "attacked" by the dogs next door? Was he bitten by the dog? Or did the dogs just bark and growl at him?
ReplyDeleteI have to believe if this guy was bitten, his wounds would have been posted all over YouTube by now and KC Animal Control would have hauled those dogs off in a second (they did it to my neighbors dog that bit a kid).
But if this guy is expecting Animal Control to take away every dog that gets out of its yard and then barks and growls at somebody, better be prepared to fire up the doggy crematorium cause they'll have plenty of yappy snarling mutts to deal with.
Dude has no respect for other people or understanding of other people's rights or due process.
ReplyDeleteI think the the Animal Control work should be put on a DIET, I saw him on a TV news clip and I now understand why the police/fire dept. do not want to merge their health insurance.
ReplyDeleteOh yea, for the person that used the "N" word.......Wow, I'm glad that I live in the mid-west with small minds.
Those that live in glass houses.....
ReplyDelete1:16 PM-yes, I watched the videos. The guy may not be as articulate as some others, but that doesn't diminish his rights in any way.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you, I understand this mans frustration perfectly. I had a similar experience a few years back when a neglected vicious dog held myself and several neighbors hostage in our homes.
Animal control refused to respond, police had no manpower to respond and recommended we call 911, which would force animal control to respond, or, one of us shoot the dog.
Stupid policies in place to safeguard animal control and the city against one citizen making false, vengeful accusations against another citizen.
I'm curious as to why animal control did not tell this man to call 911 when he's attacked instead of responding by ticketing the victim?
Tony nailed it here,
"Sadly, what's clear from all of these clips is that there is a very real disconnect between Kansas City residents and their government."
A perfect reason to move out of KCMO.
Ahhhhahahahahahha!!!! niggers all!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a dog and chicken patch part of town.
ReplyDeleteLove your city, fear your government.
ReplyDeleteConfirming... Chickens free.... Kudos to right-thinking City Manager, and Neighborhood Services director. To recap; Jeff, and his neighbor were attacked by a dog that got out of the white woman's yard.... When he continued to complain to the indolent "animal control" person... the indolent lardman ticketed Jessica, (Jeff's partner) for having unregistered cats! The next day, - yesterday, here returns the entire "animal control" corps to net the chickens that Jeff and Jessica keep. ( Note: the chickens are hand raised, trained, and respond to Jeff/Jessica's commands... so the trusting birds actually went to the "animal control" nets, which is the only way lardman could have captured the birds! I went with Jessica today to retrieve the birds, - after the City Neighborhood Services director intervened! The ladies who worked at the animal impound were totally nice, and helpful.... I believe this incident will result in some positive changes in "animal control" policy. Thank you, City employees who did the right thing to resolve this "Chicken Incident".
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill Drummond. If you're the glass etcher guy, I'm really impressed. I thought you were a bit flakey during the Funkhouser regime. But, after reading your comment above, you're obviously a pretty good guy after all.
ReplyDeleteGo Chickens Go!
ReplyDeleteTree hugging, no car driving, eco-idiot. Chickens belong on a farm do us all a favor and move!
ReplyDeleteModernistic Jetson faggot, we wish you'd move, too.
ReplyDeletecrazy dude and chicken drama.
