Last night TKC TIPSTERS blessed us with important news of Mayor Funky out of town for Blizzard 2011 . . . Today the mainstream media followed up on TKC Citizen Journalist reporting.
Funkhouser was in airports during storm
UPDATED: Funkhouser misses big KC blizzard...back in town today
Funkhouser returns to KC day after blizzard
THANK YOU TO TKC TIPSTERS AND COMMENTERS WHO FORCED THIS IMPORTANT BIT OF NEW INTO THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!!
One of the sexiest TKC Tipsters watched the Mayor's reaction on the news just awhile ago and noted: "Funks said himself in a press conf. he wished he had been here (sounded pretty unconvincing, imo!) & Mahoney said they'd left over the weekend. It's like they can't do ANYTHING right."

Mayor Funkhouser: Residential Roads will be Plowed . . . TKC Advice: Denizens of the urban core shouldn't hold their breath.
Channel 41 reported Funk was out of town seeing his mother and giving a speech. What he neglected to mention was he was in Nashville giving a seminar to a group of internal auditors, a gig that he booked through his consulting biz. I guess when it comes to taking care of the city or taking care of himself, Funk puts himself first.
ReplyDeleteToo bad he didn't stay out of town.
ReplyDeleteI hope he paid for his travel, and that the city didn't.
ReplyDeleteA few media outlets kept referring to broadcasting "from the mayor's office' when in fact they were with the city manager at the emergency hq.
Maybe if he's not making enough money on the $107,000 city salary, he could get the city to give GCI $200K and take another $100,000 job there. That's what getting elected in KCMO is all about!
ReplyDeleteDouble the e-tax and pass it again, you suckers!
According to Funky's schedule on his personal website, FUNKHOUSER WAS ON PERSONAL BUSINESS ALL DAY MONDAY.
ReplyDeleteFUNKHOUSER NEEDS TO RETURN TO THE TAXPAYERS THE ONE DAY OF PAY HE RECEIVED FOR MONDAY WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING FOR THE PUBLIC.

January 31, 2011: "Honest, Competent Government: The Promise of Performance Auditing," Full-Day Workshop, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Nashville Chapter's Annual Auditors & Accountants Awareness Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee.
I find it hard to believe that Funkhouser spent all day at his seminar (like his calendar said he would), had any type of meaningful visit with Mommy Funky in Nashville, and thought he would then make the last flight out of Nashville at 7:24 pm.
ReplyDeleteHe's out of the seminar at 5:00 pm and to the airport and through security by 7:24 with a visit to Momma Funk in between?
Not hardly.
Mommy Funky is in West Virginia.
ReplyDeleteGood points Conspiracy Theorist. I'm in complete agreement. What weather on Monday night held him up? Funk is such a liar, it's amazing anyone would ever vote for him again.
ReplyDeleteHey 7:58, with boarding time beginning at 6:54, there is no way the Flunk was on that schedule.
ReplyDeleteHow sick can you get, using your mother as cover ? We know Gloria has replace his mother. He is one sick mother fucker (pun intended).
ReplyDeleteRuth Funkhouser lives in West Virginia. Mark and Gloria have told ANYONE who would listen that they HATE Mrs. Funkhouser. Brother Byron has confirmed on this blog. Nashville was the site for the auditor rodeo.
ReplyDeleteNow what is really weird is that his employee who reports directly to him in the mayor's office is also on his ICPA board of directors. (Joan Pu where are you?) The board sets the salary for the paid Chairman of the board. Guess who the Board chair just happens to be .. Yep good old honest Abe Funkhouser. AND Renata Mateo's is on his advisory council...another ethical red flag. Ms. Mateo's is currently a city auditor. .........WTF?!
What ever happened to the Red Flag Auditor? Close down the office and spend the money on snow removal.
The City auditor reports directly to the Finance Chair. Who knows what and when did they know it?
I thought the response to the storm was above aveverage for KCMO.
ReplyDeleteDeb Hermann is the budget Chair, this is her big fault
ReplyDeletewhere are the fucking council members
ReplyDeleteThin Margin is right on target about the many, many shenanigans with the City Auditors Office under Funk and with Funk as Mayor.
ReplyDeleteIf he makes it out of the primary, WATCH OUT!!!
The relationship(s) between Funk and his staff are incestuous and reek of conflicts.
ReplyDeleteWhen Funkhouser was her boss at City Hall and her Professor at UMKC, Joan Pu coauthored a paper with Funkhouser that he pedaled to academia (they need to be published), to his fellow auditors, and to Chinese businessmen interested in trade with the West (e.g. Benny Lee).
Joan Pu, for her part, got the royal treatment as a City Employee, including trips to China on behalf of the City (HUH???).
Funny how Pu's travel itinerary for her boss Funk just happens to coincide with the topic of the paper she coauthored with Funk at UMKC. (And by the way, this paper is the basis of many newer joint shkaedown ventures a la ICPA.)

Just another reason to Vote No to the E-Tax.
ReplyDeleteAgree with the Pu comments. What is her job again.
ReplyDeleteThe snow removal was above expectations considering what we had to deal with. Thank you Funkhouser for plowing instead of giving corporate welfare.
ReplyDeleteTHE CITY MANAGER SHOULD BE HOLDING THE PRESS CONFERENCES SINCE HE WAS THE ONE IN CHARGE AND WAS HERE
ReplyDeleteThe problem with snow removal is Wayne Cauthen and him personally taking apart the public works department.
ReplyDelete8:50 pm is correct.
ReplyDeleteFunk is not a double dipper he is a triple dipper besides his $107k salry the city is paying his retiremnt $100k at the same time
