TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! INTOLERANT REPUBLICAN WHITE LADY ANNIE PRESLEY TO RUN FOR KANSAS CITY'S 4TH DISTRICT AT-LARGE CITY COUNCIL SEAT!!!

This afternoon some rather well-connected TKC TIPSTERS are telling me that a prominent GOP lady is getting ready to try and shake things up in mostly Democrat controlled Kansas City proper City Council elections.
WORD IS ANNIE PRESLEY WANTS TO BE YOUR 4TH DISTRICT AT LARGE COUNCIL LADY!!!
Right off the bat, this is bad news for 4th District At-Large Candidate Anne McGregor because it puts another woman in the running and takes away a bit of her branding . . . McGregor has screened well across the City but is sadly having problems with her website.
Anyhoo . . .

Even better for TKC . . .
PRESLEY HAS WRITTEN A BUNCH OF STUPID THINGS ON THE INTERNETS THAT SHOULD REMIND KANSAS CITY VOTERS NOT TO TAKE REPUBLICANS SERIOUSLY!!!
Strange that a somewhat prominent Kansas City PR lady should write something so intolerant and off putting . . . Here's a money quote from Presley's silly blog written for Kansas City's high society mag, The Independent:
"If Elena Kagan is confirmed, six of our Supreme Court Justices will be Roman Catholic and three will be Jewish. I find this absolutely astonishing. What I find further astonishing is that no one is ranting and raving about it. According to the Pew Foundation, 51% of America worships in a Protestant church, 24% at a Catholic Mass and 1.7% in a Synagogue. It’s almost unbelievable that not one law school in America is able to produce a Protestant qualified to sit on the High Court. Hmmmm."
Wow. This tiny bit of stupid religious intolerance should work well given that most of the power brokers in the 4th District are Catholic or Jewish people.
Fun stuff as Kansas City's 4th District At Large race gets even more crowded and kinda silly . . . It also reminds me how much I miss my mentor Beth Gottstein who helped me make sense of it all with her virtuous leadership.
Sigh.
Say goodnight Ms. McGregor.
ReplyDeleteThanks to the link to her blog Tony. After reading it for a bit I can verify your assessment of her as being a Republicunt.
ReplyDeleteTony you gotta tell the story about how you mother was tricked by Beth Gottstein into entering the 4th at Large race 4 years ago in order to split the Hispanic vote with Zeke.
ReplyDeleteHas this person stated any rationale for her entering a CITY COUNCIL RACE?
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure her views on religion or the US Supreme Court are going to get her very far.
If you continue reading, Ms. Presley also makes reference to Elena Kagan's alleged sexual preferences.
ReplyDeleteI know her from a distance and she always struck me as a bit crazy. Now I know she's also intolerant.
Thanks, T., for the link to her blog so I could see for myself.
6. "Foreign aid should leave our shores with strings attached. There is some expectation that we are to provide money and food and people to every country for every problem. And for some reason we just keep doing it…despite the fact that we learn time and time again that the much of every contribution is often hi-jacked by graft and corruption and sometimes does not reach those in need. This is unacceptable. Fix "
ReplyDeleteHoly Shit. This lady is crazy.
As a woman, I am definitely voting for her over Anne McGregor. Annie will actually represent women intelligently.

ReplyDeleteLet's face facts if it comes to sexual preferences a guy should always pick a Republican gal. Look at the eyes of this little number, she knows what to do to treat a guy right. You just do not find that in Democrat women anymore.
She will fail... it's just too hard to run with your foot in your mouth.
ReplyDeleteI am running too! Really I am.
ReplyDeleteRGC must be gouging her on prices, per usual, so she can't pay for her site!
ReplyDeleteZeke Ran in district. He's a good guy, Tony's mom has forbidden him from ever writing about her or else she will lock the door to the basement and after 20 or so days of living off his fat Tony will DIE!
ReplyDeleteLet's see why would a republican female with wack a doodle views run for office.......Christine O'Donnall, Sarah Palin one has money waiting for her and the other is spending 50k to bag a moose for the freezer and getting buckets of money after her run for office.....why would an ignorant republican woman run for office.
ReplyDeleteI need someone to work on my computer. It always makes Tracy Ward's hair look pink.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Beth should run for mayor?
ReplyDeletePssst I really am running.
ReplyDelete12/9/10 4:36 PM
ReplyDeleteNo, I do not think Beth should run for mayor. I do however think Anne McGregor should consult with Tracy Ward and then die Annie Presley's hair pink.
Too bad the entirety of the Supreme Court isn't comprised of agnostics and atheists.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't enough catholics on city council!
ReplyDeleteshe's a tea -bagger. Her race for city council is officially DOA.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see her Tea-Bagging.
ReplyDeleteShe apparently doesn't know the demographic of Kansas City voters (hint not republican) or the long history of persecution against Jews and yes, Catholics, here in the US.
ReplyDeleteEverybody lay off of Presley. She may be related to THE KING!!!! Thank you! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteWhy is she wearing my living room curtains around her neck?
ReplyDeleteHere goes another crazy, unformed, power hungry woman into the public hopper. Her idiotic ideas will keep her in front of the cameras, explaining just why she should ruin KC. Is this the best out of 4th? An outdated, unchristian, unattractive version of Sarah Palin or a shop worn self-described "Obama Girl" Aren't there smart savvy generous women in 4th?
ReplyDeleteBeth would be a great mayor.
ReplyDeleteVery clever on her part to jump into the race AFTER the Citizen Association's screenings! Typical republican ploy. Expect the reward without exerting the effort.
ReplyDeleteNot true, presley will give it her all. She definitely will be a force to reckon with. Hopefully not the same old, same old we have so far. Good for her.
ReplyDeleteSo she is running under the WASP ticket?
ReplyDeleteI hear she is hiring a new hot shot Republican consultant who has a hard-on (dinky) for labor: Chris Moreno.
ReplyDeleteHe has some time between visitation periods.
Wait a minute folks, we're overlooking something very important to our appetite for local politics...it has to be FUNNY!! Quit trying to pick our leaders by their qualifications, that's a futile effort. History proves it. There's always someone else pulling their strings behind the scenes anyway. So, imagine a City Council with Presley and Fletcher on it!! It would be like Darla and Tony, including the underlying sexual tension. A laughfest will be instore for several years! Vote for the Presley/Fletcher team!
ReplyDeleteIf BOZO the clown ran for Mayor, KC voters would elect him.
ReplyDeleteWhat say you on this burning issue Harris?
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe Kansas City, even in the more conservative Republican areas, are going to support someone who is an anti-gay bigot.
ReplyDeleteYes, but there are so many candidates in this race that she could win unless some of the longshots drop out just by them splitting the vote. Anne, Ed and Jim, it is time to do the right thing. This is not your night, so it is off to Palookaville.
ReplyDeleteThe race is now between the greedy developer, the crook and the bigot.
A concentrated bigot vote could put this hater in office. There are a hell of a lot of bigots out there.
I just HATE intolerance!
ReplyDeleteIs she still sleeping with Kit Bond? Or did she retire when he retired?
ReplyDeleteDoesn't she have a Repulican Presidential hopeful she can be working for instead of burdening Kansas City with her presence? Lady, you are as welcome as Clay Chastain.
ReplyDeleteSleeping with Kit Bond is a crime against humanity. YUCK!
ReplyDeleteLets hear it for haters!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a harsh, judgmental person. Not really what we need if City Council is to become more cohesive and effective.
ReplyDeleteIf you read her blog in its entirety, you'll find that she is not a Tea Party conservative but more of a moderate. She doesn't even come close to people like Christine O'Donnell or Sarah Palin. She is a small business owner with a lot of experience as a fundraiser for non-profits and political campaigns, both Republican and Democratic - she even worked for Cleaver.
ReplyDeleteI think Annie Presley is worth taking a look at because she is focusing her campaign on fiscal issues, most notably our outrageous debt and sub-par city services. There is nothing anti-gay or bigoted about Annie Presley.
Looking into religion is actually very important to many Americans since we know that serious Christians are people who live accountable to God and work to please Him. So yes, yes, yes to true Christians being in Governmental positions - vote them in and I believe they can strengthen Kansas City and bring in people who are there for us.
